  11. Parasite sucks ass the movie could have been an 1hr and half instead of 2hrs and 12mins the plot makes no sense the goods parts are halfway though the movie. Parasite should not have won for best picture

  14. I feel the same way, brother. I wanted 1917 to win Best Picture as well! I was shocked of how a non-English film , Parasite won the big one at the end! They should’ve put Avengers Endgame or Dolemite is my Name instead of Parasite! Either one of those films should’ve been in the Best Picture category!

As much as the Oscars ceremony itself was a little "huh?" at a couple points ( cough Eminem cough ) I have to say, I don't think there was a single solitary win that I was disappointed with 😀 Freaking LOVE Parasite- I won't say it's necessarily "my favorite movie ever" on a personal level, but it really is insanely impressive how truly unique and unpredictable it was! For the creativity and masterful storytelling alone, it deserved every win.

    Also, Joaquin's speech was wonderful in my book, and as someone who fell down a bit of a River Phoenix rabbit hole a few years back and came to really adore who he was both as an actor and person, Joaquin reciting his "run to the rescue with love, and peace will follow" quote REALLY got me <33 That Phoenix family, man! As much genuinely good people as they are insanely talented.

  18. Only real bs thing was that Battle Angel & Lion King. Both should have been nominated for visual effects.

    When the best doesn't represent exactly that. It takes away from the achievements of the genre not to mention industry.

  19. Honorary Oscar, I think should go to Sharron Choi. Damn that girl has got mad skills. Interpreting is difficult here I think.

    But to do it in an extremely nuanced way. To get one's Intentions across not to mention a laugh out of the audience is boss.

    She would have a future at the UN, I think here. Anyways congrats to Parasite for it's 3 Oscars including Best Picture.

    Never thought I'd ever see that for a foreign film. But now that I've actually gotten to see the movie. I can say it is completely well deserved. 🙂

  20. I wish u could show it if you actually saw some of the speeches, Bong's beautiful speech where he gave a sweet shouts to Scorsese and Tarantino is one that deserve a spotlight. It's not all about the winner's reveal, this show, you know

Having seen both 1917 in theater and Parasite last night on a rental at home can honestly say Parasite deserved ALL the top awards more. 1917 deserved all the awards it got but it bothered me that certain parts of the script and the lead characters were not properly developed. 1 of them had a brother but I hardly knew anything about the other soldier or his life, his family and aspurations before becoming a soldier which is why I had issues connecting to that movie.

  22. I was honestly moved to tears watching parasite being awarded the big awards that night. South Korea props to you! They have AMAZING talent, amazing films, music etc. I’m glad they got the recognition they deserve!

  23. Parasite was amazing. I thought it was odd when it won for best picture. I saw it after the oscars, and my expectations were sky high. Lets just say, I went out of the theatre in shock. So well deserved, it was my favorite of 2019

  25. I was so happy when Joaquin Phoenix won he's such a great actor and Hildur Guðnadóttir she's amazing her score in joke is incredibly beautiful,,, i was also happy for parasite won❤️ ❤️ ❤️

The Academy members are able to get free dvds of all nominees and also get to go to free screenings if they like (not to mention they are rich) so being Netflix movie for Klaus after it got the nomination was a negative not a positive since the industry doesn’t like Netflix. In any case Toy Story 4 was the better film.

  31. Joe Pesci was not going to go. It is his nature. Not a big awards event person. Anthony Hopkins probably was working on a film… He never stops.
