  9. Every app we use, from where ever we download it, collects information from our device. That includes "official" and paid for apps. We don't really know what they do with the info. It's common knowledge about google and facebook selling data. We have to be careful what permissions we give and hope nothing bad happens, or we stop using all the apps.

  10. Thank you for taking the time for explaining all of this to us in layman's terms, I have always been hesitant to use a free vpn or even a paid one so I guess the search for a decent VPN will continue

  12. Good video pal. VPN's are by no means a new technology whatsoever which is what a lot of people have a misconception about, they have been around for decades. They are now however being marketed at the average Joe which makes myself quite worried, as I am wondering what these companies are benefitting from. As you mentioned there are huge risks to using these services namely being used as a botnet, data loss and data interception as well as installing viruses, malware or keyloggers etc through the back door. I have used them in the past when I was a dumb teenager and thought I was being clever but you couldn't pay me to use most nowadays unless I was either hosting the servers myself or knew the people that hosted them. The Internet is a vast, unscrupulous and mostly lawless wilderness and I would urge anyone personally who doesn't know how VPN's work intimately to avoid them like the plague, especially free ones. Besides, in my opinion you are never truly anonymous online anyway…

  16. I doubt that vpn is on your side. Paid or free all are the same. Your internet info get stored and used. They say they don't but they do.
