  10. I just saw this film on Netflix. I totally fell in love with the cinematography and production design. Really captured the right mood and setting of the story.

    I'm not too familiar with Daniel Day-Lewis' films, but he was phenomenal in this film. I did not see an actor portraying a role. He became the character. I was mesmerized by his talent.

  13. Is it just me or does daniel day lewis change his very bone structure for each role? his shoulders seem narrower here than in there will be blood for example

  18. You know those films that make you think for days after you've seen them, this wasn't one of them. Two hours of the most transparent psychology wrapped in a bow of good visuals. Instantly forgettable.

  20. Such a slow and boring movie that lacks plot direction but amazing acting and cinematography. The main characters were so irritating and snooty though so it was hard to root for anyone.

  21. Watched this last night on Netflix, the Daniel Day Lewis's character has the best case of Asperger's that I have ever seen in a film, his sensitivity to noise, change in routine, and his creativity are all classic Aspergers. For his swan song this was an epic performance.

  22. I’ll be honest, as much as I like the trailer, when I discovered that this was Daniel Day-Lewis’s final film, I was worried that this film would be a very slow and dull movie, which isn’t how I wanted Daniel’s career to end, on a low.

    But I have to say, this film is probably one of my favourites of his. Thank you Paul Thomas Anderson!

  23. I'm sorry to say I expected something different from this movie. It was really good, but I expected some more tension between them two. He just looked like he wanted her for like 10 minutes in the movie and then he turned in this annoying old man I wanted to punch throughout the rest of the movie. Is still a good film tho.

  24. I just watched the movie for the first time and I have a question that I don’t have a answer to. Why at the beginning is Alma talking to the doctor at the beginning and throughout the movie? Did I miss something? It was like she was confession about what she did to Reynolds Woodcock.

    Absolute rubbish! Yes I actually watched the whole movie!!

    If you want to feel depressed watching a messed up relationship fine but if not don't bother!

  38. The best movie with the worst trailer of all time. A child with no attention span and iMovie could have spliced something together more fitting.
