i get to the part where i put it into dfu mode and the app starts the process. but then the touch flashes to an all white screen and just stays like that. RS says "waiting for reboot" and its just stuck. what should i do now?

hey guys my iPod 3g 4.3.2 will not go into DFU mode I tryed everything I know…….This is not my first time jaiilbreaking a idevice I have jailbroken my iphone many times so I know what im doing but I just cant get this to work……..any help will be nice and im using a Mac 10.6.7

Also, I would like to get into jailbreaking but I just can't be bothered to be in the fight against updages and a jailbreak. Until apple stops supporting my 4th gen ipod touch then i'm in 🙂

What do I do to update to 4.3.1 without losing all my jailbrake goodies?
Do I have to suck up and lose my cool stuff or is there something simple I need to do?
Do I just run this on my jailbroken device or does it need to be clean?
Is it even worth updating? So many questions!!
