2. The Santa barbara locals were not happy when Fess Parker built that huge hideous hotel of his which didn't fit into the town at all, a complete eyesore.

3. I live in South Daytona Florida and I remember when I was a little kid we had a Sambo's Diner here for years

4. Victorian houses look great but they are a pain in the neck to maintain. Painting all of that gingerbread is tiring.

7. yeah, you have the right by law to DECLINE the insurance and extra coverages that they upsell to you – and they cannot refuse to rent the car to to either, by law. Of course, this is if you have the state required auto protection. And, you are NOT required to purchase or have comprehensive upgrade coverage either. Many people do not know this and the rental car companies depend on customers not knowing this … If you use your personal credit card (Visa or Mastercard and most American Express) to rent a car, they have a built in protection of insurance of rental cars, so you do not have to purchase it apart and above what your credit card benefit already provides. Contact or go online to see the benefit your credit card provides to confirm this.

25. I remember going to the Sambo's restaurants when I was a child, with my parents. I never thought of it as racist. I loved the art work. Up of the wall, the little boy, chased by the tiger, and finally the boy making tiger butter out of the tiger. Then you would get tiger butter on your pancakes and berry syrup. I didn't think the boy was anything but clever. Again, thank you for doing these trips with the stories of the area. They are wonderful.
