  2. We get 32 mpg highway on our 15 Forester Premium CVT. With the panoramic roof this car was $26000 OTD new. Our last 04 Manual model Sold with 145k in 2015 for $6000, we paid $17800 for it in 04. 1 issue, ever: a driver power window motor for $220 installed. Only sold it (over blue book) because we had a second child and the forward facing kid seats in back made my legs hit the dash. Later models have more space. I miss that one though. It is nice that it is a Timing Chain, now. Wish we went manual with the newer one, but the CVT is Nice. We live in the PNW and I cannot go to any parking lot lacking another charcoal grey one.

  3. Iowa in a winter storm, only vehicles passing my 07 Impreza are wrx. Really enjoy all wheel drive. Even though I recently smashed up the bumper cover. Gps told me to drive down a muddy tractor path, so I did.

  4. When you see PZEV (Partial Zero Emission Vehicle) on a Subaru it means that when the engine is turned off and the car is parked, it's not emitting any emissions. I'm not kidding. That's really what it means. I bought a brand new Subaru a few years back and that had the PZEV label, so I researched, and that's what I found out. I was disappointed to learn that it's just a slightly more sophisticated version of charcoal canisters that American cars began using around 1973.

  5. Imagine thinking you can get away with saying the flat 6 motors have lifter problems. This is a completely random thing Scotty made up. Lifters are not a common issue on flat 4s and even less noteworthy on flat 6's . These motors go well above 200k with little and cheap maintainence.

  6. If you smell anti freeze get that puppy to the shop, bad head gasket on the 4 cylinder, usually right when the warranty is done, they have been sued over it, I’ve had it, my dad blew the motor,

  7. Nope, that was silly and not informed, having owned several over 15 years. The 4 cylinder burns oil and has had a lot of head gasket issues. The 6 cylinder is the best, same motor, not Version 10.2 on the 4 cylinder.

  8. So these CVTs still give up early. Especially when taken off-road, hot climate or carrying load/people often. This is what saddens me as I would really like to own an Outback by I want a car to take from Tokyo to the mountains with friends or family.

  9. I hope scotty makes a vid explaining the differences between Subaru AWD and other companies AWD systems, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Toyota, Audi, Volkswagen, Ford, Mini, Puegeot, Citroën and Škoda.

  10. Just traded my 2013 Impreza Sportwagon. Spent just under 10,000.00 in repairs and upkeep. I had 76,000 miles on it. Issues with the transmission and AWD and A/C. I paid for the issues the first time. The two times after that, the dealership covered due to an extended Subaru warranty. It should have lasted a lot longer. I replaced the A/C at 42k miles. The AWD issue was eeexpensive. I decided on a RAV4.

  11. My wife owns a 2017 Subaru Impreza hatchback and loves it. She has driven it in all weather conditions and it handles very good. I also own a Subaru and love mine. I own a 2015 Subaru STI and have not had any problems with it. Just maintain it and it will run great.

  12. All wheel drive is great for all driving conditions including dry pavement.
Its simple physics, power delivered to all four wheels help in stability, roadhandling and traction.
Subaru's are the Swiss Army Knife of cars.

  13. The larger the stake that Toyota has in Subaru, the more good things Scotty has to say about them, if Toyota ever owns them outright, they will be the best cars you can buy!

  14. I have to take issue with Scotty on the Subaru 6 cyl., they are some of the finest engines Subaru has ever made.
Due to the design of any boxer engine, proper maintenance is crucial, especially proper oil change intervals. filters with proper backpressure relief valve ratings are critical as Subaru uses a high pressure, high flow oil system.
Don't buy one if you aren't prepared to change the oil and filter according to the manual with good quality stuff.
The wife once ran a Toyota 22R completely out of oil after an overheating event.
I refilled it and it happily ran as if nothing had happened for years after.
Don't try this with a Boxer engine.
