  1. Hope you don't mind me covering new music from two Linkin Park members in 1 vid! Let's talk about Grey Daze "Amends" + Mike Shinoda's "Dropped Frames Vol. 1".
Which album stood out to you more?

  2. I literally cried when I heard Chester's voice when I listened to the album. It was so nice, to hear something "new" from someone who's voice saved my life more then once.

  3. The Dropped Frame Volume One album by Mike Shinoda was fully made live on Twitch streams and was made out of fan suggestions. The Volume Two is coming very soon!

  4. Been listening to Grey Daze ever since Chester’s passing
Wake Me and …..No Sun Today each have some pretty good tunes on them but you have to be forgiving about the outdated production

I’ve listened to Amends quite a few times now and I gotta say I felt they did a really good job on it overall

Chester truly does sound amazing – and he was only around 19 years old or so when the vocals were recorded
GD diehards would call most of these tracks remixes, and for the most part they are, but for me it’s a refreshing twist on some old jams and the bonus is how good Chester sounds compared to the production of their former albums

I’m hearing a 3rd album from them was never released and that those tracks, plus many revamped tracks that didn’t appear on Amends, will be forthcoming

  5. I feel like the tracks on Dropped Frames could've really shined or proved to be significant or memorable, if Mike would've worked more on them. Maybe added a little more of synths, maybe a guitar solo, maybe an electronic drop, or a piano piece. Those who have seen all the Mike Shinoda streams on Twitch, know that Dropped Frames Vol 1 doesn't necessarily have the the best choices. There were some better ones I wish should've made the cut, but who knows? Vol 2 is coming in 1-2 months I'm guessing, we'll know. Vol 1 was really not a serious effort, it was just Mike chilling, having fun and enjoying the process.

  6. Check out his side band Dead by Sunrise & the last song Chester actually sang/worked on , Mark Morton’s Cross Off, where he goes full BeastMode heavy again.

  7. Great video man, I got to speak to Chesters son who made helped make soul song, the bass player Mace, the guitarist Cristin Davis, and Ryan Shuck. All people who helped make amends. I love amends and being able to interview them all was such an honor.

  8. Grey daze put so much effort into making this album and I raised my bar by watching all the pre-album videos that showed these efforts. and I'm sorry but, the production and arrangement it was so weak that ruined all of those efforts, and I had to pause listening to the album at first and gave it rest to decrease my expectation and then again start to listen to it. so I'm gonna give it a 3 out of 5 for the same reason.
I mean come on guys you cooperated with so many musicians for making this album why you just not got some help from some good record producers out there! and in the end, the drum was a little bit on the weak side.

  9. This comment is not meant to be controversial or hated
I’m my opinion, as i feel it would be better, but I think everybody needs to stray away from calling Mike, “of Linkin Park”.
I understand he’s a member and that’s what he’s known for but Mike is doing his own thing and probably wants to now be known for his solo projects so that he doesn’t have to always be questioned about Linkin Park.
Again, this comment is not hateful towards Mike, this is just my pov on him considering it’s been 3 years since Chester passed and us fans were sure LP couldn’t continue

  10. Also, I know you mentioned you haven't heard the original material, and while I would recommend pretty much all of it, I would specifically recommend the original version of B12, which I think stands out as a song that didn't quite get a fair shake on Amends.

  11. Grey Daze actually was not Chester's first band, he was originally in a band called Sean Dowdell and his Friends? (yes the question mark is part of the name). As you might expect, Sean Dowdell was in that band, and when they broke up, both Sean and Chester went on to join Grey Daze (which was also called Gray Daze at one point).

  12. Have you gone back and read about Dropped Frames Vol 1.? If not, ya really should go back and do your research. Btw, Booty Down is supposed to be a joke song.

  13. I was amazed by Amends. Thgouht this would just be a fun little throwback to Chester's early days, but the songs didn't feel dated at all. Really goes to show how even a 15 year old Chester could write these timeless lyrics and songs

  14. Well I respect your opinion, but I loved booty down and I also wanted Mike's vocals and rap but I will give 4 stars to dropped frames

  15. I am not huge on Dropped Frames but the Grey Daze album is really enjoyable for myself. It really does go to show how important Chester was as a writer in Linkin Park especially in the early albums and it's clear he is the rock influence in the band. It's a shame that One More Light is his final work with Linkin Park but what hurts the most is that he was taken from the world far too early!

  16. Dropped frames isn't incredible but it wasnt meant to be so…
Some tracks I really liked and some not so much but that's fine but open door for me is on par with his post traumatic stuff

  17. I've been into grey daze for about 10 years so ive heard all the songs countless times but listening to the new record really hit hard inside, he wasn't even 20 when he sang those things….
I was at Chester's final show and Ive always thought what could/should I have done you no?? He struggled for so long, I knew this, we all knew this and yet he wasnt saved…
But anyway I think the record is great, especially "in time", that sounds fucking incredible, probably listened to that a few hundred times now, no joke

  18. I absolutely love Dropped frames. And tbh. Booty Down is hilarious. It was hilarious live and I still giggle to it when I hear it.
