1. How old is that bridge? Did you see all those rust drippings from the side of the bridge? Maybe the steel bars within the bridge or cemented into the bridge got so rusty, it would snap in a given time.

17. This is a suspended cable stay bridges supporting the road deck by high tension cables at the middle. During it collapsed, the middle of the span broke and give way but looks like the cables we're not snap or came out from the arch. Likely the cable which connected to the road deck casted inside the girder give way, which is why other elements were still there only the middle of the span break off. And this suspended cable bridge should actually use rod instead but not cables to take the bridge load.
