  1. AWESOME VIDEO!!! You have taken all the guesswork out of setting this up! Two quick questions…I personally use SaferVPN (I tried NordVPN but it would not stream Hulu properly to Thailand…video was slow, choppy and buffered). Will this particular router (Asus RT-AC66U 802.11ac Dual-Band Wireless-AC1750 Gigabit Router) work pretty much the same way your video described assuming I'm using SaferVPN? Any tips I should know in advance? Thanks SOOOOO MUCH!!!

  7. Great explanation of everything in this video man. This is probably the best one I've seen so far. The only thing that gets me is that none of these videos perform a speed-test. I have an Asus RT-AC87r router that's running the latest Asus firmware. After setting up openVPN in the Asus router's VPN client with NordVPN, my internet download speeds dropped from over 100Mbps all the way down to 16Mbps. That's not acceptable at all for my home network setup. Was able to achieve about 60Mbps using L2TP on my router, but using that protocol pretty much defeats the purpose of using a VPN. Any suggestions?

  11. good tutorial.but my problem is when I did set up VPN client on Asus router and activated it all devices in the house are connected to vpn.I live in shared accomodation and I want to use vpn for myself.

  13. I have an Asus RT-AC5300 router. I followed your directions and the VPN worked perfectly. The only problem? My Internet speed slowed down dramatically. I contacted Nord VPN and was told there is nothing they can do about that. Did I do something wrong?

  15. Is it normal for your internet speed to slow down a lot when connected thru VPN? Mine drops from 200Mbps to about 70Mbps.. I cant have that lol

  16. Can you add the VPN to one radio/SSID and leave the other SSIDs without the VPN? To allow users to connect to the VPN by connecting to the VPN-enabled SSID?

  21. First.. love the video. Very well done. Now, a Nord VPN on a router question. I installed Nord VPN on my Mecool M8S Pro L android TV box. I ran a speed test on the box and I am losing the expected 10% +/-. No big deal. Yesterday I set up my Asus router with an OpenVPN to Nord. I ran a speed test and lost close to 90% of my speed. I thought perhaps it was a fluke, so I turned off the Nord connection and ran the speed test again. I got my 90% back. Activated the Nord connection again, ran the speed test, lost the 90% again. I've tried different servers with the same results. I don't understand why I loose so little on my android box yet so much via the router. Any ideas? I could really use some help. Thanks.
