  1. I was watching this outside with your 5G network, (I live outside Ft Lauderdale) and you claimed your 5G would be just as strong in NYC as in a smaller city, but apparently where I live in the city 200,000 didn』t have the same speed as you claimed, nor did it when I went to the Miami Zoo, so why should I stay with T-Mobile? I switched from Verizon, and trust me it was waaay faster even with their 4G network. I』m switching back to Verizon ASAP. But thank you for not being Sprint.

  2. Bill Nye the Sell-Out Guy. Truth of the matter: 5G could very possibly interfere with weather forecasting via preventing satellites from detecting concentrations of water vapor in the atmosphere accurately. Vapor transmits a faint signal at a 23.8-gigahertz frequency. 5G stations transmitting close to that frequency could be mistaken for vapor, thereby affecting the accuracy of our already questionable forecasting models.

If Bill Nye were TRULY a "Science Guy," he would explain that. But, no. He is not a Science Guy. He isn't even a Scientist. . . he has a degree in mechanical engineering. He's no more a Science Guy than my father who sold telephony for a living.

  3. Hello,

Quick question I live in Chicago and 4G LTE from TMobile gets 0 bars at my home. Some rooms get no 4G LTE signal. Will a 5G signal reach me considering a 4G does reach?

TMobile put in a home cell point device connected to my Internet. Cool, but when the Internet is down so is my cellphone.

  4. There are a WHOLE LOT of folks I would rather have seen than Bill Nye the Unscientific guy pair up with T-Mobile.

  6. Notice that there is no talk of data SPEED? A PERFECT 600MHz signal would deliver roughly 400 Megabits, or 400,000,000 bits of data a second. Divide that by 8, and you have Bytes per second: 50,000,000. That's 50 MegaBytes per second with a perfect signal (no redundancy, no dropped packets, basically a wired signal with no data loss or error). So, I would guess that their 600 MHz carrier signal is capable of real world performance of 30 MB per second. The theoretical maximum for the 5G spec is apparently 10 Gigabits per second. And, to put that number in perspective, the Theoretical maximum of 4G is 300 Megabits per second, but we usually get about 100 Mbps, or around 7 megabytes per second.

    TL;DR

600 MHz carrier signal probably limits data speeds to about 30 Megabytes per second. Not the huge speed increase we've been sold.
