It is not rocket science to figure out Hollywood is going to vote for the movie with Hollywood in the title. Themselves is alway their favorite subject. Remember it is a popularity contest and has nothing to do with which film is better. However in this case Hollywood got it right. It really is the best movie

The quality of movies have gone downhill, to many remakes and non original ideas of a story line, not enough great actors or directors out there to do a true to life movie. The other problem I see is the time limit for movie they try so hard to keep it around 90 minutes or so and at that point you lose the quality of the storyline and the depth of the characters and the plot of the movie. I have not watched a good movie in years. I have predicted what has happen in upcoming scenes no matter what the storyline is just by either who the actor is or the director. You dont always have to blow something up to just get out of a boring scene. I will not be watching the oscars.

Something I have noticed over the years, and I am old, so we're talking about a lot of years. Oscar winning movies, aren't always the BEST movies that are released during the year. Thanks for your opinions; I thought you had sound reasoning for your picks. I really liked Ford v. Ferrari as did my wife (which really surprised me!) so I would like to see that win but it is not the kind of film Hollywood would select. I think 1917 will win because of the unique filming/editing method so it appears to be shot in a single continuous take. I thought Charlize was phenomenal in Bombshell so I'd like to see her win but I think it will go to Cynthia.
