  1. Good point from Alonso… costume design is very easy to overlook in more modern pictures. It stands out by nature in something like a Civil War movie, but that doesn't mean that great attention to detail wasn't a reality in a film with "today's" look.

  2. Christy mention that Taron Egerton was lobbying for Best Song (6:01), but wouldn't the award would go to Elton John and Bernie Taupin? Best Song only goes to the songwriters, correct? I remember Beyonce being not happy that her name was removed the Best Song nomination for "Listen" from Dreamgirls due to a limit on how many songwriters could be on an entry.

  3. 1917 plays out like a shitty UbiSoft video game, and I'm going to be so vexed if it wins much tonight. If the Academy select 1917 as Best Picture, they will further alienate the broader audience, society as a whole. You've gotta give it to the Joker, the most serious and impactful movie of the last twelve months. It meant a great deal to a LOT of disenfranchised, disillusioned people, particularly loner men scorned by polite and so-called civilized society. These three have no idea about any of that, nor do they care, in their safe liberal woke bubble. The cast their aspersions of Joker from their cozy Malibu bungalows and can't understand why anybody speaks highly of it. One day, maybe they will understand.

  4. Animated feature is the one of the only characters where there doesn't seem to be a front runner. 3 or 4 of the movies could conceivably win. It's totally open.

And you guys seriously overrated Little Women. Meh.

  5. I heard of Anonymous Oscar Ballot, it was small group vote but Parasite and Once upon a time in Hollywood was ahead of 1917. It means 1917 is clearly front runner but Tarantino and Bong can upset Best director or Best picture. just like Moonlight did. ? we never know

  6. It's the 92nd Oscar Awards this year, for 2020… great start guys lol No offense, and this will sound horrible like I am a bully but if you are doing an oscar show here, shouldn't you know if its 91st or 92nd or 93rd? No guesses! How lazy and very arrogant, just look it up, it will take 5 seconds. 92nd! there!
