  1. I do believe that there were films that were made by and starred non-white and female artists last year the had the potential to be nominated; however, I think it's incredibly unfair how people online are using the nominated films as their scapegoat. If you wanted a certain film or actress to be nominated, that's fine, but you can express your feelings without shitting on another movie.

  2. For the first time in a long time. I have seen most of the film and enjoyed them. Irishman doesn』t belong unless it』s in the theaters just my opinion maybe an emmy

  3. My predictions
    Best picture: 1917
    Best director: Bong Joon Ho
    Best actor: Joaquin Phoenix
    Best supporting actor: Brad Pitt
    Best actress: Renee Zellweger
    Best supporting actress: Laura dern
    Best adapted screenplay: jojo rabbit
    Best original screenplay: parasite
    Best score: joker
    Best cinematography: 1917
    Production design: OUATIH
    Film editing: Ford v Ferrari
    Animated film: toy story 4

  4. @MrHreviews H. You should watch the irishman…if you want to be taken more seriously. Given its accessibility, you really have no excuse. Being a critic/reviewer as you are…like wtf? I love you but wtf? Lol. I also wanna hear your take on it. You liked "Joker" which is basically a Scorsese movie. I loved Joker too. Just odd you wouldn't check out a gangster Scorsese movie @MrHreveu

  5. Phoenix is definitely winning. I don』t get Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, it』s a movie that led up to nothing. DiCaprio did give an amazing performance but that was only positive. What exactly did Pitt do in the film that earned a win? Take his shirt off, have a drug trip. Dolemite is My Name was a much better film and should have gotten something. For snubs in the acting category this year is definitely Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Lopez and Awkwafina received huge acclaim for their performance in there respective films even before the films were released. So there were definitely snubs.

  6. The lady who did the music for Joker MUST, MUST, MUST win!!
It's the most hauntingly beautiful scores I have heard in many years. It is stunning.

  7. IF YOU GET THE TIME…WATCH THE IRISHMAN! It is a truly great movie. ( besides the scenes with Pacino) but everything else is great.

  8. The first hour of Joker just seemed like typical origin superhero movie fare and I lost interest tbh. But its winning awards so there must be something to it.

  9. oscar so white…. 🙂
no "us"…..for a movie so praised and maybe not as good as "get out" for me but the message is so good
no alita or detective pikachu for best sfx….is it that hard for them to show "equality"!? 🙂
where is dr sleep!? for a movie so well acclaimed this is strange to not see it anywhere
    anime japan>all FACT
    and shazam>endgame FACT

  10. Three movies I want to see. One I have seen and that was the Irishman. When Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and the Joker comes on cable I』ll see it. I think the Irishman should win best picture, best adaptive screenplay because even if that』s not true about Jimmy Hoffa it』s just so interesting and I think Al Pacino should win best supporting actor.

  11. My Picks:

1917 for Picture- I haven't seen it yet but all the people in my film groups praise this one endlessly. The trailer didn't impress me very much but I may try it and hope i like it. I wouldn't mind seeing Joker or Hollywood win. they were the two best movies I seen last year. Sadly I just don't see them knocking this movie off.

Mendes for Director- Sadly I think Sam will get the W here, QT honestly imo did a great job with Hollywood and if he pulls the upset here I"ll be happy and declare this a win even if 1917 wins the main event. The Fact QT hasn't won for Director yet is a shame so I'm hoping it happens.

Phoenix for Actor- If anything else happens the Oscars will forever be a joke to me. No one came close to matching him. I also see Joker winning Best Score and Best Cinematography at least. Maybe Best Makeup too.

Johansson for Actress- She pulled a Jessica Lange in '82 for noms in both categories.. I just think she was better in Marriage Story. Field besides here isn't that impressive to me, kind of a respect year for Scarlett.

UPSET: Pitt for Supporting Actor- I gotta feeling Pesci and Pacino will knock each other out due to s lot of votes and being in the same movie and there may be an upset winner. Brad's the only one in this group who hasn't won anything yet and he was beyond amazing in Hollywood (best part of the movie for me honestly,) I would flip a brick if he wins it here. I kinda got a feeling it could be Hopkins too. No offense to Tom but he didn't really nail Rodger's voice that well.. kinda of a nag more than anything. This is the one category I won't be too upset at.

Dern for Supporting Actress- Sadly I think it's gonna be a runnaway for Laura here. No offense to her as she is due for a win but I wouldnhonestly love if Kathy Bates won another Oscar but I doubt it will happen though.

  12. If the oscars are worried about low ratings this is what they should have done,, Nominate Deniro for best lead actor,, led him win and led Phoenix represent him the award thats some good tv!!!!

  13. I just love how they』re bitching and whining so much about the Joker getting nominated (rightfully so) but didn』t have a single problem over praising a mediocre movie like Black Panther, giving it so much awards and Oscars, it』s absolutely ridiculous.

  14. For me Joker deserves Best Actor and Best Score. Best Picture is quite a stretch but I think it's between The Irishman, Parasite, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and 1917.
