iPadOS 14 —接下來會發生什麼 [Wishlist]

iPadOS。

  1. In fact the thing I would LOVE to see, is iPhone apps running in the hover window (the third window in split screen mode) to include the phone app. This way my WHOLE DAMNED SCREEN isn』t taken up with a notification AND I can run iPhone only apps when I have a keyboard connected in landscape mode.

  2. The thing I NEED most for iOS 14 is a true desktop extension when I plug my iPad into an external monitor. Whenever I ask for this I get a host of people telling me this already exists. What they mean is that you can use AirPlay with SOME apps if you have an AppleTV… I want ANY app to work when I send it to an external screen I am physically connected to. It is the last function I need so that I can replace a laptop. I KNOW it can happen because the functionality I want is available in Keynote for the iPad. BUT it only works for Keynote… Maddening as hell.

  3. Why is it that budget tablets like the samsung galaxy tab s5e can be hooked up to a monitor and the monitor becomes an extended screen, but the Ipads cannot do that!?!?!?!

  4. Split screen could be better. I would like to open an app, slide it over halfway and see a condensed version of the home screen to pick my next app from.

  5. That multi-user feature on the iPad is at least 5 years overdue now. They seriously need to add this on iOS 14. As for the weather, calculator and health apps, nothing fits more than your " That was then, this is now" super wise comment.

  6. The pitch for the iPad Pro is that it has all the power of a laptop in portable tablet form. My imaginary dialogue with Apple runs like this:

Great! So can I run pro apps on it?

    「Sure!」

    Like, say, Xcode?

    「Well, no. Not Xcode.」

Oh. Well how about Final Cut Pro?

    「No. Not that app.」

    Logic Pro?

    「Nope.」

    Mainstage?

    「No, sorry.」

Well what pro apps can I run on this expensive powerful laptop-class tablet?

    「Well, we have Pages…」

  7. There are some websites that still don』t work fully with iOS- java or something like that: had to buy a windows laptop for my kid to do his school work. I have two ipads- sigh

  8. All the mac's programs also work on the ipad and vice versa. Finalcutpro on the iPad …. mmmm. The photo editors of the mac on the ipad … mmmm. Simply connect your ipad pro to a monitor and be able to use it like a macbook pro now can with a monitor. I know it is already possible, but if all the mac programs were running on the ipad, it would be fantastic.

  9. For me it's the ability to put icons where the hell I like on the home screen.

I usually use folders. But Damn I want them on the BOTTOM of the screen, where I can reach them.

Not right up at the TOP that makes reachability a pain in the ass.

  10. While I like all your ideas, I will tell you the things that the iPad is seriously lacking and have been on my wish list for years. The big one that really irritates me the most is in the photos app. In photos every photo is categorized but date, in tips it say we can now ask SIRI to find a photo for us but that is so not true, she can only find a photo by its date, and who can remember the date of every photo when you』re like me an have over 10,000 photos. I take screenshots of every online purchase and I』m an artist so I』m constantly searching the web for photo references. While it』s great to be able to sort your photos into albums sometimes I forget and I have to go scrolling through the camera roll to find something. Also the photos app like to do things like show you your memories or separate your photos by dates. Well I don』t necessarily want to remember all my online receipts and all the photos you download from the web do not fall into the date you download them, instead they have metadata that has its own date of creation so I have in my years view photos from before I was born and I』m 57. It』s the metadata that I desperately need access to, I want to be able to select a photo open up the edit menu and give my photos a specific name and date. If I have a picture I took of my Darth Vader action figures I want to name it Darth Vader and then give it a number like Darth Vader 001 and then I can see Hey Siri show me all my pictures of Darth Vader. I want to label my vacation photos as Vacation in France or celebrations like 50th birthday party or retirement party or pictures of mom. You can see how necessary this is to be able to use. You can do it on a Mac and if iPad is going to actually live up to its pro title it should function like a Mac and allow me to access the photos metadata.
The next thing it needs to be able to be considered a pro and a PC alternative is something it used to do but in some new version has eliminated and that is the ability to send texts to android users, currently the iPad can only send and receive texts from Apple users and it』s not even very good at receiving those at all, some come through some don』t. I don』t own a computer since I got the first iPad, on initial release I』m pc free and use iPad for everything the least thing I should be able to do especially since I have a cellular data iPad is send a text to anyone in my address book I don』t want to look and see if you are a blue bubble or a green bubble to know if I can text you, I pay for an extra line and unlimited data talk and text it doesn』t make sense that sms messaging is not available for iPad, I can do it on my iPhone so it should be available on iPad.
The last thing may sound strange but I use my iPad to answer the phone all the time, I love that I can be talking to someone on my iPad and still pick up my iPhone and make a call to someone else, I would like the iPad especially a cellular enabled iPad to have a phone function where I can bring up the phone window and dial a number, currently I can only make an outbound call on the iPad by clicking on a link or by having Siri do it for me but sometimes I want to be able to access the phone and press numbers during a call to go to different departments it would just be easier if phone was an option.
Well that』s all I want, and being a iPad only user I should get those things I have upgraded to every model the original iPad the the iPad air then the first iPad Pro then the 9.7 pro and now the 2018 iPad Pro and I』ll tell you I. Not upgrading to the next model just because of a camera feature. Until they utilize my iPad Pro to its fullest potential I. Fine not having wide angle photos. I have a 10XMax iPhone for photos anyway.

  11. Great vid. Mine would be ability to add more icons to a page (reducing sizes), having drop shadows again to get rid of this flat BS that detracts from the UX, ditching multitasking and bringing in fully moveable windows. Proper mouse support and an ability to lock specific apps (not guided access) when someone else using it.

  12. I just want feature parity between the macOS』s music app and the one on the iPad.

Let me add music files to my local and/or iCloud music library right on the iPad – with the ability the change meta data and all.

If iPadOS makes the iPad a legitimate PC-alternative, there』s no good reason why I』d still need a Mac just to drag and drop MP3s into my music library.

  13. Love the idea of individual accounts on the iPad. My adult children often hand their iPhones over to their toddlers so to have face recognition for different people (read kids) for the iPhone too would great.

  14. Here is my list

    1. Laptop like keyboard and mouse support. A better magnetic attached keyboard with touchpad and keyboard like Surface products would be great
    2. More external storage filesystem support especially NTFS. Many of us work and live and work in multi device offices and homes
    3. External monitor output at destination monitor native resolution not the iPads e.g 4k
    4. 100% support for Google Docs on browser for office productivity. Maybe with some money encouragment Microsoft and Google can also get their native Office apps closer to desktop functionality.

    As mentioned in video:
    1. File browser def still needs some features
    2. Def multi user support. Can't believe it still doesn't have it. Works so well on my Android devices

    Nice to have:
    1. Second USBC port
    2. Dual SIM. Most won't care but in Asia where you travel a lot between countries and data is super expensive getting local Sims as you go while still keeping your local SIM active is not a luxury it's mandatory
    3. PIP YouTube
    4. Bulk edit exif data of photos

  15. The ability to EXPORT photos, all at once, from the iPad to….whatever is the biggest stumbling block. PLEASE, we need this! I am so tired of having to copy my finished photos from the iPad (2018 9.7") to my PC via Dropbox – one image at a time, and then having to still delete them from the iPad afterward!

  16. Here's my list of features I'd like too see in iPadOS 14:

Full monitor support for the OS so that it isn't just a letterbox mirror of the display unless you need it to be
Cursor that isn't a dot on the screen
ability to customize the status bar a bit more with widget like info
multi-user support (I know Rene said this already), but It'd be so nice

I don't personally need much else out of my iPad's software because the rest of my wishes are hardware based, I.E. making the charging port Thunderbolt 3 compliant and thickening the tablet to add more battery and cooling as the performance gets better

  17. As an IT guy who works on projects, I』d like to be able to have files and shortcuts more of a thing in the next iOS release, and not just a focus on organizing apps. When working through Windows or Mac I can create a folder for each project that I』m working on with the files and shortcuts that I need for the project. Ex: at work I will create a folder labeled after the project I』m working on. Within that folder I can have a text document with a list of servers that will be part of the project, shortcuts with various UNC paths for various files on remote servers, rdp shortcuts for the servers I need to log into, a few browser shortcuts to online resources needed for the project, a few PDFs for the project timeline, server architecture, etc, and maybe a few jpegs picture of the PM or stakeholders or company logo, etc. Maybe even a shortcut to the weird vpn client that is used solely for some third party vendor that is part of the project.
If someone else joins the project I can do a quick knowledge transfer by giving them access to this project folder, or I can simply copy the folder to them if they』re taking over the project. I can』t imagine a way to do any of this in iOS today without spending a ton of time in the Files app with mixed results.
