  4. As great as this thing is, I think the point on the fans kicking in really makes me think Microsoft needs to heavily expand on their 「gaming mode」 because Windows OS overhead just taxes hardware unnecessarily. I』m thinking three tiers of gaming mode settings:
    strict = maximum resources available for graphics rendering and the game process, minimal OS overhead, 
    balanced = standard windows behavior when games are running, and 
    lite = slight prioritization of gaming tasks and slight reduction in OS overhead.

  9. I'd be so down. i dont want to buy a switch to buy games there or rebuy some of my favorites I already own on steam. If I could just access those from a good mobile platform kinda like a switch, I'd 100% be in.

  15. To the Verge team, excellent work! Great coverage and the editing and music flowed well. And Chaim as the host needs to do more vids. Great job. Dieter is awesome and am sure can use some rest.
    Overall, I agree with Chaim. I am excited too and hope this concept translates to an actual product. However, as a patent owner myself, one has to wonder if there is any patent infringement here given the design is almost identical with the Switch. I would think that the removal of the side controllers (i.e. joycons) was a unique enough concept that it might definitely be a Nintendo patent.

The Nintendo Switch and this console have almost the same feature capabilities…. they both attach and deattach the same way, they both look almost identical in design, this gaming console's controller looks and acts the same as Nintendo Joycons. Isn't Alienware just copying Nintendo? Like, I'm pretty sure they could get sued for that.

  19. Was Alienware inspired by Nintendo then then suddenly they wanted to make a console that looks simulator to the Nintendo Switch…. or is it the other way around?

  21. This with a swappable battery and easy pop off panel for storage upgrading and fan cleaning will be amazing. Also something along the lines of 720p screen at 120hz would be perfect.

  36. Let』s be honest, you』re gonna have to tie a nuclear reactor to the back of this thing if you want to play it for more than 5 minutes each charge.
