Blizzard nerfed the infinite lesser vision farming. It's better use of time to go in, do the daily quest to get the guarantee 1000 vision. After you've secured that, go and do the rest. Be sure to kill the named mob on outside of the building. You can restore your sanity by rescuing the yellowed text npc.
On the Horrific Vision, you cannot use the orb in combat, so pace yourself. If you decided to do the other district, be sure to kill all of the mobs you engage. I had one failed because no one except me was killing a tentacle that burrows underground.
The higher your cloak, the easier the task becomes. I did 2 medium Horrific Vision with a guild member, and the mobs were literally melting on rank 4 versus rank 3.
