  2. The most shocking of the night was Bong winning director because everyone thought Mendes had it! Then there was the resounding, "omg parasite night actually win best picture"

  3. Diane Warren was snubbed for ''best original song''. 11 nominations to date and so many of them are songs that anyone could recognize even if it's not their taste in music. So sad.

  12. I almost pee in my pants watching your reaction when Parasite wins the Oscar for best picture. I have been watching your predictions for months already and you were right to the point.   16. I thought if there is any international film to make this happen (even with a little tiny chance), It would be one of South Korean movies. And it happened!!! WOW!

  17. 1) I got 17/24. My initial gut told me that 1917 and FORD V FERRARI would win Sound Mixing and Sound Editing respectively, but then I switched them after reading about their wins in previous ceremonies! Fuck!
    2) I know sometimes the Oscars spoil movies with the clips… but showing the final shot of JUDY?! Come on! OK, I guess it's fine since that moment doesn't actually reveal anything.

    3) Wait, I thought the Academy forbade people from applauding during the in memoriam segment a couple of years ago.

    4) I know it's common to cut off speeches, but I can't remember ever seeing the camera showing the actors of the movie reacting to the crew members of the same movie getting cut off (it happened tonight with BOMBSHELL).

    5) Why do a recap rap halfway through the show? Neil Patrick Harris does that at the end of the Tonys.

    6) LOSE YOURSELF is my favorite rap song of all time and 8 MILE is one of my favorite movies of 2002… but why did Eminem perform it? Was it because he wasn't present when he won back then? It felt out of nowhere (I don't remember even reading his name in the "Presenters and performers" list before the show) and it didn't connect to anything, not even the montage that preceeded it. I mean, they showed how songs were used in movie scenes, but that song was played during the end credits.

    7) I love that every year they choose actors from non-nominated movies to present… but what's up with the PEANUT BUTTER FALCON guys? I get that Zack Gottsagen has a mental disability and can't read/speak well, but you can still plan things around it. It seems that he and Shia LaBeouf didn't rehearse. It was awkward.

    8) Doing what's essentially live-action version of the "Disney song in many languages" videos is a great idea! I just hope the people in Spain don't get mad at the whole "Spanish/Castillian" thing.

    9) A montage with different clips of the nominated actors is a new idea and a good one… but what's the point if the presenter will still read the names one at a time?

    10) If there are going to be presenters that do nothing more than introduce other presenters, why not just have a host? Yes, I'm aware that George MacKay made a joke about that, but it's lampshading.

  19. When Bong won I had the same face, except without the scream, I was paralyzed with shock and happiness and I knew right when his name was announced, Parasite was gonna win Best Picture

    and then watch it set on fire when Parasite got the Best pictures.

  25. Toy story 4 deserved the win. Pixar has 10 wins because it makes the best movies I don』t get why people complain so much about it

  35. The same thing happened to me. I literally lost my $h!+ when Bong won Director because it forecasted that Parasite might also win Best Picture. When it did, I also screamed hard as hell. But, the Best Director winner announcement was epic.

  37. i love parasite but ford v ferrari winning film editing wasn』t a big snub.
    most great scenes in parasite was strong because of cinematography and directing.
    some of them were long takes. (but i think parasite』s editing was great too)

  38. the master was the performance of his lifetime. but idk he could obv still give a better one. but his performance in the master is one of the greatest ever

  42. I』ve said for a long time that for a foreign language film to win BP you would need a bulletproof argument, an unimpeachable case. Parasite was that and if had lost I think the idea that a film not in English could win BP would be would be in serious doubt. Parasite was a truly now or never situation, in a way that something like Roma was not.

  46. Your reaction to Parasite wining to BEST PICTURE is exactly the same reaction I did. This gave me hope that that the Oscars Academy are opening their doors to more creative movie from non-speak fore film. ???

    Max – one day you should be an Oscar voter… I trust your intuition on movies that deserve to win Oscars more than anyone else on YouTube! PLUS if you were an Oscar voter .. we wouldn』t have had the CATASTROPHE that was green book winning best picture ?
