I think the trend being missed is that the Academy is being more accepting of streaming services now with The Irishman and The Two Popes highlighting the Oscars this year.

With regards to MCU connections…. they only showed two characters in the MCU, which are both Sony properties,who have been in Sony-made films. Was there ever any doubt that they'd reference whats happened in the Sony/MCU films thus far….?

I loved the Morbius trailer. It set up the story nicely I thought, told us enough about what to expect, and Jared Leto looks great as the lead. The music was brilliant, as was the tone. Im suddenly excited for it! Would love to see Blade vs Morbius at some point, but doubt it'll happen.
