  3. USA people should try watching foreign films more often. There are so many good movies from all countries… Hollywood has made excellent films, but there's also a lot of shitty money-makers films that you should skip and then use the saved time on good subtitles… Of course if this habit becomes common, it possibly will discourage film-makers from investing time and money in such bad remakes. (From Brazil, with all my respect.)

  13. If Hollywood ran out of remakes of old movies, stopped doing Superhero movies, and stopped remaking perfectly wonderful European, Japanese and UK movies into watered down bland update versions – would Hollywood even exist?

  16. Does it really matter if its a remake. They do this shit all the time, do you think your 60yo parents got upset when godzilla and kong came out again, and again recently too? Wills awkward funny and julias a good supporting actress. Personally, i liked the original ring and grudge more, but the american remakes were just as good and did both films justice.

  18. one dimensional and just horrible, no plot, nothing to it, all based around issue husband ran away when there was an avalanche coming and crashed across the restaurant terrace. and thats it. just a family fighting and arguing about that. totally ridiculous plot. hopeless. AVOID ! nice snow and ski scenes tho, in Ischgl Austria. makes for 1 star. plot/acting/directing/producing -10 stars !!

  21. Am I the only person who saw the original and saw the potential for comedy? To me the fathers reaction was hilarious, honestly it was the only bit of humor in an otherwise depressing movie. Also frankly, the original was a bit slow and had this nagging feel to it – basically it was alot of the couple sitting tensely, not talking, and the incident serves as something for them to use as a reason for their ill feelings instead of just saying what really caused them originally. That family needed counseling help not a ski trip! As a viewer this was depressing and yes, I get people experience these feelings in their life but I rather not sit somewhere for 2 hours watching some couple bitterly stew and disinegrate over words unsaid and feelings unexpressed. Hopefully this comedic spin brings more to the table.

  24. Force Majeure gets remade with more focus on comedy and American leads. I like these actors, and this trailer doesn』t seem half bad. But did this really need to happen?

  33. Yeah this looks awful. Even the scene with the avalanche is done horribly. In Force Majeure it's one continuous take. The camera never moves. In this there are tons of unnecessary angles and cuts. It just looks messy. Not to mention Julia Dreyfus is far, far too old for the roll and Will Ferrell isn't a very good actor.

  35. I thot this was going to be a comedy……..it wasn't even close….!
    There was more comedy in the 1943 movie A Lady Takes A Chance when Jean Arthur drinks the cactus milk…!!!
