  1. Here on the US West coast, you have to have an enclosed bathroom system or they give you the boot. I sleep in the back of my car on weekends when I snowboard, so this looks totally plush.

  2. propane heaters dump a lot of moisture into the air. an interesting option might be a little Diesel heater. A 12/24v Diesel parking heater can be run of solar charged battery, draws very little power for its pump and glow plug.. and doesn't use a lot of fuel so they can run for days on a single tank. the trick being, you can set it up with a thermostat. So you can tell it, to turn on when the temp drops below x… you stoke the wood stove, use that, when it burns out and cools down to the point the diesel heater will kick in and keep the place warm until the morning when you can restart the fire and turn off the heater.

  3. You should make a stick to hold under the table that you made by the bed/ couch, as you are on the computer, reading, etc– so that the table doesn't bend downward on you. It doesn't have to be all one piece (if anything), I'm sure you know that though.

  4. this is one one the best videos i have seen on here and wow what a job you and your dad did on that well planed out your dad is one hell of a craftsman

  5. If you router the counter opening, you can recess the basin below the surface. Then you can reduce the diameter of the cover and end up with a flush/truly flat counter.

  6. …k, the little antique iron for waxing is proof that if y'all think outside the box solutions will usually appear…also great idea to create open garment storage that doubles for drying…nice job…

  7. The 18/120 volt Ridgid brand portable fans sold at Home Depot work very well. Quiet, variable speed, long running on 18 volt battery.

  8. I like this trailer but when he said the total cost came out to $60k Canadian I was like that's too much. He can easily buy used van for about $25k USD and spend $15k to make it a camper. Still gonna be a little less than his budget and have bigger and better amenities like shower and toilet.

  9. Great Build! One Suggestion…….move your computer & cell phone, that's like sleeping with your brain underneath a microwave relay station! DUMB

  10. The cubby retainer clips are genius! Simple and elegant solution.
Also love the padded curtains to insulate windows, nice touch!
The chimney solution is very clever too. Assemble in place, love it! Cuts down on wind resistance.
Great tip about the Carbon Foam Batteries. Never knew they existed.
Lovely trailer, and professionally built. Your dad is a real woodworker. Thanks for the tour!

    My two cents worth:
Finish off the garage side so you get more hanging options or shelving.
Get a Chinese diesel heater for $200. This works off a small diesel tank which fits anywhere, and is far more useful than this wood stove. Diesel heat does not create condensation like propane does. These work as well as Webasto or Truma from Germany but those are priced at $3000. Chinese ones work well as per Youtubers.
I would be careful with putting any electronics right next to your brain all night. The electrical charges are not good for your brain. Both run at 60 Hz. This constant EMF interference can cause cancer. Also, if there is an earthquake or someone shakes your trailer that laptop will hit your head. Please use a strap or change head position to other side.

  11. this guy is hilarious.
"It's not as glamorous as it's made out to be".
looks like a horrendous way to live, in the back of a work trailer with no windows.
Glamour wasn't a word anybody was thinking of.
This guy likes it and that's all that matters for his life.

  12. A nice, clean and neat fit out, perfectly suited for its intended role as a safe, comfortable and lovely Travel Cabin for wherever the owner wanted to be, and as long as he needed to be there!

After seeing complicated and expensive fit outs, its a nice change to see this light, airy and spacious conversion which is elegantly simple and simply elegant!
