  1. Hi Scott! Quick question, how did you set up the continuous playback between the clips? In my browser when I play a clip to set the in and out points, I have to click on the next one instead of having it automatically play. Thank you!!

  2. I just started using final cut pro yesterday, and your shortcuts make so much sense, now that I have also watched your video on the Logitech MX master shortcuts! Thanks and kudos!:)

  3. Great stuff Scott! JKL works for double speed (as you said), but also for triple speed and quadruple speed, the more you hit J or L. I also like shift-B for setting Blade speed timing for speed ramps. Shortcuts are a wonderful built in modern miracle, in just about all creative tools we use. They make you feel like a wizard.

  4. SO, SO useful. Yes yes most of us k ie about shortcuts, but as you say Scott, do we USE them. Um, not me. Which is a large reason why I』m slow was hell at editing. Shortcuts for me from now on! Thanks Scott.

  5. 1. Shuttle Keys (J, K and L) in combination with i and o keys to set in and out points.
    2. E drop clip to end of timeline. W insert clip into timeline
    3. Shift +I and Shift + O go to in point or go to out point
    4. Top and Tail edits: Option Left bracket (Option+[), Option Right Bracket (Option+]) and Option Backslash (Option + )
    5. Fade Audio In/Out: Modify > Adjust Volume > Apply Fades (I think!) assigned to shortcut key

    Thanks Scott, super helpful tutorial…

  6. Yeah….so I』m a…umm…little late to the party…but….I just wanted to say that I really REALLY appreciate these shortcuts!!! Thanks for sharing with us! Cheers!

  7. Thank you, Scott. I just started using [ and ] and it speeds up editing tremendously.

One question, please. You have defined a shortcut to use Shift Z to add a fade to a clip. Doesn't that conflict with the default of Shift Z, i.e. Zoom the contents to fit the size of the timeline?

  8. BY FAR, one of the most useful tutorials I've seen. thank you so much! Just subscribed… and so many of my vlogs also start at Starbucks! haha
