  5. Maya uses Parallel Evaluation with GPU override to accelerate deformations on the GPU, this alone gives huge boost then after that they added cashed playback for heavy rigs and simulations even their image planes system.
    I don't know how Blender dependancy graph evaluates but Daniel got a point, a small tweaks to the evaluation with a bit of cashing and Blender could be as good as Maya for animation playback and of course node based rigging with low level control, that would make lots of pro riggers flock to Blender….

  6. UV editing needs that slim algorithm, someone needs to dust it off and maybe add few quality of life features and Blender's UV editing will go back to the top 🙂

  7. Absolutely Agree with having General components groups instead of just vertex groups would be amazing. One of my current feature in my on top wishlist is: Proper retopology view and destructive shrinkwrap (like a snap to surface mode, but instead of projecting vertices through the view, project them from individual normals). that would really make retopology in blender would be really less painful!

  8. This has been long overdue. Daniel is probably the best industry vet to showcase/promote/evangelise Blender. 15 year Max vet here who has moved about 80% of my pipe to Blender over the last year. Been following Daniel's Zbrush work for many years and it's great to see him at the forefront of pushing Blender in real-world production and in his own personal experiments.
    As for the Unwrap tools, until recently I said I would never touch them as I could unwrap in Max/Rizom with my eyes closed and it looked like a nightmare in Blender, but in my first ever recently completed production asset in Blender(AAA weapon with 100 parts) I decided to use it to test Blender unwrap tools in production. It was a wild success. I went from ZERO unwrap experience in Blender to all parts unwrapped in record time. I quickly developed a workflow that was lightning fast and efficient. Note that before I even started I purchased UVPackmaster and it saved me a TON of time(anyone who has ever packed for games will appreciate this) I would say it probably saved me a week of tedious manual work.

  9. Great! I am still get amazed by the Evee tiger fur display , but are There children very loud ,screaming
    in the background , or did I have too much wine ? So loud rs rs

  10. You could improve the grease pencil, it is very complicated to handle, it would be good to put deformers and bones similar to ToonBoom, inside the proper grease pencil. And next to the function of the shape keys.

      Blender is very complicated in 2D animation, and unviable.

  11. YES…If they guests can do these demos for like 30 min whole answering question would be much better and not just listening
    that texturing demo was cool to watch pablo ..

  12. can i add bone after starting animation already in blender 2.8.i am actually missed to add hip or pelvic bone .and i started making animation in timeline .so can i now add hip or pelvic bone ?????plzzzz help
