I love the zoom BUT – I use FCPX a ton (more than Logic) and when I have to switch between the programs – I wish I could have the same Zoom key commands from FCP (as much as possible) when working on timelines.

Hi Chris, When you use Z to zoom in on a selection and make some edits, nudge the region etc pressing Z again or pressing with zoom tool does not zoom out all the way to the initial view .It just goes back one step to pre edit size. Is this a bug or normal?Thanks

This is where I think that the trackpad is king. I couldn't imagine using a mouse for zoom features. Z is also my best friend after I've made a selection.
Good video. I rarely use the zoom tool though. I find it a bit… clickey
