This whole google thing is just the beginning. I can see network restrictions on Chinese phones and trade wars coming next. In any case how much of the iPhone is built in ChiNa? Maybe manufacturing will shift to S Korea and Taiwan? Fairly safe buying cheaper phones but if you want one to keep for 3 to 5 years a much more difficult decision. I've just swapped to a secondhand iPhone 7+ and while I still hate Apple and the iPhones it is great that when the latest software version is ready all the phones get it the same day. No more waiting 11 months for Android 10.
