This video is a review of the new Amazon Echo Dot 5th Generation, it highlights Amazon’s cunning plan for the Smart Home industry and I can’t believe I didn’t see it before.
The Amazon Echo Dot 5th Generation now has touch sensitivity and a built in temperature sensor. It supposedly has better sound and twice the bass, but the side by side comparison of the echo dot gen5 versus gen4 proves that the sound quality isn’t a great deal better.

Now if somone can tell me why I have two echo 10 shows.. one started playing random things at all hours of the day (night).
Changed password no change, deleted and reset, no change, deleted most apps or whatever they are called on device no change deleted the one remaining one and seemed to fix……then started again. Changed password again still happened reset again still happened changed account still happened. Brought one from other house with a different account that never had a problem… installed here with my main account that have on other…. it's been almost a year and hasn't happened at all.
Plugged in other one and few days later I have football game recap at 3am full volume.

Having a vague definition about how the occupancy sensor determines if a room is empty, is a good thing, not a bad thing.
What sounds empty in one room may not be empty in another room. There may be background activities, normal things like pets or equipment that it needs to learn about.
The definition of an empty room appears to be flexible and that』s a good thing. not a bad thing.

Why anyone would bring one of these things into their house is beyond me.

Considering the fact that the microphone never shuts off and is always listening, None of these devices will ever be in my home.
The odd globular 5th gen sucks just like the 4th gen. The 3rd gen remains the best Dot of all of them – note Amazon appears to agree since they』ve sold this old gen device for much longer vs later gens than any other Echo device.
Who would hide the LED status ring underneath the device?!? Ditto the 4th gen Echo.
The reason the motion sensor in the Dot hasn』t caught on and that Amazon hasn』t promoted it is clear – it doesn』t work well.
Another great video. The stereo pairing is a strange move, being as Amazon seem to make pairing various devices really difficult. I have an Echo Show 15 in the kitchen and the sound is terrible. I've got an Echo Show 10 (3rd Gen), Echo Show 10 (2nd Gen) and a regular Echo (2nd Gen) – all of which have way better sound than the Show 15, but none of which want to pair as a speaker. Also, the bluetooth on the Show 15 seems to be terrible and doesn't want to pair to any sound bar I try to throw at it.
Setting up rooms and groups seems to be VERY hit and miss unless I just add ALL devices and play music in the whole house. I'm not sure if this is a generational corporate greed thing or just poor compatibility, but I am sure its VERY annoying!

That feature existed in the Echo 4. I don』t use it. I live in a studio apt.
