As a software developer, I appreciate technical aspect of its development, but from business point of view it is just another not that useful product which keeps people from thinking and working properly, it is another unnecessary piece of technology which will be used for fun and makes people lazier and more stupid as all the most of the apps on smart phone did. Not needed really.

  14. This is wonderful and scary at the same time. The future is uncertain with a powerful technology like this. As long as it doesn't have power over us, and it doesn't physically exist in the physical world, I think we'll be fine. But there are always creedy corporations and governments who could use chatgpt to do whatever they want

  15. Majority of its users are university students. The plagiarism software that are used by the universities and colleges cannot track Chatgpt. So students are using it for assignments and asking it to write essays.

I'm in Canada, I tried " 5 years CMB" chatgpt said: It seems that you are trying to search for information on "5 years cmb." However, I'm not sure what "cmb" refers to. Could you provide more context or information so that I can assist you better? but google immediately told me waht I was searching for: Canada 5 Year Government Bond ; Change -17/32 ; Change Percent -0.54% ; Coupon Rate 2.750% ; Maturity Sep 1, 2027 ; 5 Day. -54.22.

  31. The hype obscures the fundamental reality that all these AI tools are nothing but labor-saving mechanisms that cut costs and boost profits, the same goal the self-serving corporate-dominated system has pursued obsessively since "shareholder value"

I "chatted" with this so called A.I. and it was no more intelligent than my toaster… I asked it to draw me my favorite character from the W.I.T.C.H. series and it couldn』t even do that it referred me to drawing guides and when I asked it what it thought of the character Will Vandom it gave me a generic answer. 🤔🤷‍♂️. They have no intelligence even with access to the internet these 「A.I.」 chatbots everyone is claiming are so smart and talk to you like a real person are full of it 😮‍💨.

  35. Just like students copy text from wikipedia and paste it into a doc file and deliver it as homework.
    ChatGPT is a workaround a shortcut not even proven as effective.
    If ChatGPT is so smart, it should stop working and tell to the lazy DO YOUR OWN WORK !!!
    And that will be the most sincere proof ChatGPT is not a tool to make people dumber than they already are.

  37. ChatGTP is a (very) fancy lookup table for the order of words. It has zero understanding. You heard that right: ZERO. It literally has no idea what it is saying. It can answer a lot of questions, but so can books. ChatGTP is like an abstraction made from a big library. It has 180 billion parameters to store its knowledge about word order. That's more than twice the number of neurons that you have. That's why it sounds good, because it has memorised a bunch of regularities in all that text. It's impressive, useful, and a transformative advance, but it has no more clue than the assembled linked text of the internet.
