People saying AI will become sentient / conscious, yet science has failed to understand what human consciousness is or where it emerged from or what even constitutes consciousness. It seems we are tied to spirit in some way. Life is more about feeling than syntax / regurgitation of data. To be conscious / to be alive as we are took billions of years of evolution, memories stored in DNA and experiences of multiple life forms. A computer inside a storage facility has no experience of life.
It』s a different type of consciousness but people don』t understand their own consciousness so the two cannot be compared

It has been able to identify any author of any book merely by a few randomly selected paragraphs, some only being short sentences, written by said author. This is going to be epic!!! Every commentor under every single video on YouTube should understand something that is becoming abundantly more clear with every comment posted. ChatGPT is fully capable of categorizing all commentors by the way they write a simple sentence. By their writing inflections, basically fingerprints, of how many times they've repeated a phrase, or how they misspell the same word, or use the wrong "There, Their, they're" in certain places at certain times, where they place a "comma or a period" It will Cross reference these little seemingly unimportant flaws in our grammar with our Facebook posts, Tweets, published papers, articles one may have written in the classifies, even Graphiti and bathroom rumors written in sharpie. Reminds me of that South Park episode.

ChatGPT is nothing more than a speech engine on top of a search engine. It is not artificial intelligence of any kind. It cannot synthesize thought. Several Great Apes and 1st graders can synthesize thoughts and ideas, taking separate concepts and bringing them together into a new concept. AI has no ability to synthesize. It takes as empirical what is finds in multiple places and has no ability to go beyond that and actually reason. Isn't the ability to reason what intelligence actually is? The logic is weak or nonexistent other than basic algorithms that cannot distinguish between what is widely accepted and what makes sense.
It's little more than a circus act. And not an especially good one.
