  5. And now how do you do this on the Unifi USG so that all network traffic from your internal NW is automatically tunneled through the VPN without having a client or proxy configuration on each end-point on the local network?

    Doest the vpn proxy changes your ip to a new ip ? ( never existed one ) if yes this brand new ip will belong to the contery choosed in the datacenter region or another geografic region ?

  19. Why are you generating your SSH keypair remotely? Why not generate it locally, then move the public key onto the server? Your method requires moving the private key over the internet and you have to use PuTTY-Gen to convert your key to PPK anyway.

  21. Hi, great video. I seem to be having problems getting past Step 4. After running the "apt-get install python-cffi libffi-dev libssl-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev" all looks good, but when I run the "./util/venv-dependencies.sh ./venv" again, I am getting some red errors that are not 2.7, they are:
    ERROR: os-service-types 1.7.0 has requirement pbr!=2.1.0,>=2.0.0, but you'll have pbr 1.10.0 which is incompatible.
    ERROR: python-keystoneclient 3.19.0 has requirement pbr!=2.1.0,>=2.0.0, but you'll have pbr 1.10.0 which is incompatible.
    ERROR: oslo-i18n 3.23.1 has requirement pbr!=2.1.0,>=2.0.0, but you'll have pbr 1.10.0 which is incompatible.
    ERROR: oslo-utils 3.41.0 has requirement pbr!=2.1.0,>=2.0.0, but you'll have pbr 1.10.0 which is incompatible.
    ERROR: stevedore 1.30.1 has requirement pbr!=2.1.0,>=2.0.0, but you'll have pbr 1.10.0 which is incompatible.

    It then seems to move on and I can go thru and add access token, then <ENTER>, but never get prompted for your Fully Qualified Domain Name??? I have deleted droplets and started over many times, just can't get past this. Any ideas???

  23. why would i pay $9.95 us. this is just an add for your pdf that you did not write.. windows 10 has its own free vpn thats just needs to be filled in. Betternet vpn is free anyway and works fine.

  29. Hey Chris excellent video I do have a question though, what would the overall cost to run this? Obviously the $5 a month would still be continually but if I understood you right would I then need to buy a domain name also? Thanks I love to see the videos that you have and look forward to more in the future.

  30. First Off: Great video, Chris…I sprung for the PDF, and that's a great value, as you have everything in front of you during set up. I also signed up with Digital Ocean using your link, however, I found that they require you to give them your CC information to take advantage of the "credit" offered by using your link. However, Not only do they require your CC info, they warn that there may be a small preauth charge on your CC as well, which of course, will eventually fall off: the length of time depends on your bank/processor. How much? They dont tell you that. And they do NOT accept prepaid CCs either, for people who use those for online purchases for the sake of safety! These are pretty onerous Digital Ocean requirements, imho. I would be OK with the CC information, but the preauth charge? Dont care for that! Just so you ( all ) are aware of how Digital Ocean runs things….

  31. Great video Chris, However, I have to confirm the following:
    -Proxy via Firefox: Works
    -Windows OpenVPN: Works
    -Android OpenVPN: Failed, traffic is blocked as client
    connects but will not send or receive data, no traffic. I repeated the config that I paid for 7 times and still, the Android clients fail!

  34. Just a heads up if you are planning on using this for torrents don't they will send you DMCA takedowns. For all other purposes it's really good I just tested it!
