  1. There are many traditional Taiwanese food eg smelly tofu, offal, soups, snacks, desserts, that are generally not very 'appealing' to western tastebuds but are essential to Taiwanese cuisine (as in other Asian cuisines). I am sure that you as a Korean would be fine with those foods but they might not go down so well with a good part of your audience. I feel that most of the foods you showcased in Taiwan are more of the 'hip' sort, easier on the tastebuds or not from Taiwan(eg xiao long bao, hotpot, dim sum, etc) even though they are chinese – just saying, but of course they are very good and you are more than welcome to eat those foods as well. I also love eating the xiao long bao without bursting it first.

  2. I can’t wait till you recreate a lot of these recipes when you get back home! Especially the pancake and the mango shaved ice….. ok, and pretty much anything else!

  3. Wow! You did it again! You made me so hungry!!! Wow those pancakes and dumplings! Wow! You are so good at explaining everything your eating that it makes me feel like I'm eating it too! You get an Emmy from me!!!!

  4. Seonkung I have a question!!! I know in some countries you cannot take your leftovers with you! Is this the same here?? Did you eat at one sitting allllll of the food you ordered? If you did, you are a champion!! But if not, did the leftovers come with you or go to waste? And if they went to waste, do the restaurants get nasty you “wasted” food you paid for??

We have an Asian buffet in my town who are very mean and judgmental. My friend whose youngest is 9 went to the buffet— the people working took their order for the girl’s buffet as a “kid’s buffet”, and her daughter went and got her plate. Before this, her mom said to her “don’t get things you won’t eat! You can go back for more later so don’t waste!” So her daughter only got a little. When her daughter came back with the first plate the buffet hostess came over and said “kids buffet only 1 plate”. My friend argued of course and said they didn’t pay for a kid’s plate but a kid’s buffet. The hostess argued kids are always wasting food. Her daughter hadn’t even eaten yet! I’m just wondering if maybe this is a cultural thing?! Or maybe more prevalent in other countries?

  5. I've eaten the grain amaranth, but never the greens. Is it bitter or ???? Can u describe? Thanks! Happy New Year to you & Jacob. Can you share Korean new year traditions? Q

  6. My goodness, every dish in this video looked so delicious, but the best thing about it is simply watching and listening to you Seonkyoung?. We even got to see a few mini shimmy shake dances as you enjoyed the yummy food?. Thank you Seonkyoung…I adore you?.

  7. Happy new year, Seonkyoung and Jacob and every one, close to your hearts!
I was just thinking of a simple dish, mostly made of china cabbage and shrimps. What would your suggestion be?
I am thingking about frying the cabbage in hot oil in a wok. Frying the shrimps in rather butter than oil. With some garlic.
And add a little chili oil. No sesame oil. Maybe a little soy sauce. To keep it as pure and simple as can be.
Does this idea insprire you? Pls help me out!
Greetings from the far north of Germany!

  8. Can't wait till u get bk. Love to see how you make that onion pancake. Miss seeing your videos. Had to rewatch some of your old ones. I need to write the recipes down in case they get removed frm utub. ??♥️

  9. The scallionnpancake method is the same in roti shops… it's called "buss up shop." After the flakey roti is cooked, its busted up to make the roti's layers more airy. Delicious!!
