元旦向香港抗议者发射催泪瓦斯

1月1日（星期三）元旦，香港警察向聚集的抗议者发射催泪瓦斯，因为该月的反政府抗议活动持续至2020年。

暴力事件在很大程度上是和平的游行中爆发，大量的普通公民向当局敦促在中国统治的这座城市进一步让步。
 
在湾仔区，当便衣警察进来时，一些抗议者在汇丰银行的一家支行中喷绘了涂鸦，砸碎了自动提款机，紧张的对峙中喷洒了胡椒粉的人群，然后开了几枪催泪弹。
 
抗议者被许多面具所掩盖，身着黑色，然后重组并组成了自己的阵线，投掷了几枚汽油炸弹和伞。

  4. These protester need to think of something instead of vandalise the places.. if they want to change hk so badly and cant change.. they need to think of other solution. Migrate, or go to difference countries and see see.. maybe hk is not as bad as what the youngsters thought.. anyhow we just need to accept the fact that hk land is belongs to china.. for example, u have rent a house from a building management from different company. And you have deal with the building management more than 100 years. Suddenly the building management need to return back the building to the landlord due to the contract has dued.. the building management surely need to pass back the building to the landlord to continue managing it. And the landlord created many rules and regulation for all tenants.. do you think the tenants who are not satisfied with the rules which decided by the landlord, tenants can burn or vandalise the building? They sure migrate or think of other solution. Anyhow do not give a bad impression to other countries' people that the citizen of hk is violence and uncivilize.

  9. HK police didn't shoot them? It is about time for HK police to use a real guns and shoot them. What's the point of arresting them. They lie to hte judge and run away during bail to Taiwan. Just finish them on the street.

To the Western Biases Media, Protestors do not wear face masks, do not throw Petro bombs (Molotov Cocktails), do not destroyed public facilities, properties and most important of all because they seem to be representing FREEDOM do not attacked those who have different views from from them. Lol! This is the oddest part, of these same so call freedom movement protestors do what they do in your Country, most of them would be dead or in prison already. ???????

  18. Hong Kong police arrested about 400 rioters, a record high. In the past, the police just tried to chase them away and waited for hours before they arrest a couple. New Year, different strategy.

  19. Smart protesters, they are recording the protest. This is how you capture the alphabet agencies that pose as protesters as do terrible things in order to get the movement shut down. I would recommend drones as well, you want to get all angles and really track down the saboteurs. Even if the violent ones aren't alphabet agents, at least it shows that the protesters intend on being peaceful protesters. That being said, the peace corps exist for a reason as a sister agency to the military. JFK would have never succeeded without Malcom X. Every successful revolution has a peaceful arm and a violent arm.
