  1. This worries me because as demand for soybeans grows in Brazil, the Brazilian farmers can cut down the Amazon rain forest for more farmland. So the US needs to end the tariffs and move in with life.

  2. Tariff is one thing, but the more pressing issue is the loss of market share. China still requires the agricultural products, but now Brazil and Argentina is filling the gap. Even when the dust settles and tariffs are lifted, I don't think US farmers will return to the same export dominance as before. This is the same with products made in China, where manufacturing and supply chains shifted to India, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Indonesia.

    Nobody wins in a trade war except third parties.

  11. Ha ha , PATHETIC!! Because China is buying soybeans from those Countries, US wants to tariff them. Signs of an empire on a downward spiral. All empires have fallen and certainly US will not be an exemption. Brace yourselves for the ride…

    Brazil is already the largest soy and meat producer in the world, and the only country that can supply China.

China uses hundreds of government-funded talent recruitment plans to incentivize individuals engaged in research and development in the U.S. to transmit information in exchange for salaries, research funding, lab space and other perks. The Communists then use the American research for their own economic and military gain, Senate investigators say. The report includes specific examples provided by federal agencies that discovered Chinese talent recruitment members who downloaded sensitive electronic research files before returning to China, submitted false information when applying for grant funds and willfully failed to disclose receiving money from the Chinese government on U.S. grant applications. One Chinese talent recruitment member removed 30,000 electronic files before heading back home. Another filed a patent based on U.S. government-funded research and hired other Chinese recruitment plan members to work on American national security projects. “One Chinese talent recruitment plan member stole proprietary defense information related to U.S. military jet engines,” the report states. “Others have contractually agreed to give Chinese institutions intellectual property rights that overlapped with research conducted at U.S. institutions.”

  19. Brazil and Argentina will sell more soy beans and beef to China to make up for their lost sales to USA due to tariffs. This, in turn, will lead to even less sales fir US farmers.

  28. So China is supposed to sign a deal to buy more ag. from US rather than buying from Brazil. Now Trump slaps tariffs on Brazil. It seems to me China intends to keep buying ag. from Brazil and Trump is unhappy. It also seems that Trump is opening multiple fronts which will reduce the potential of tariffs from containing China!
