Traffic is the only thing I dislike about Taiwan, even if you are on crosswalk with green light, don't expect all cars would yield. If you go outside Taipei, It gets even worse. I heard Japanese drivers are very good, they rarely disobey any traffic rules. South Korea is more like Taiwan, just less scooters.
You have touched lives in a very positive way! I capture "adventure" videos for my 90 year old in-laws and sent them this as they had been stationed in Taipei in the mid-1950s. My father-in-law served in the United States Air Force as an officer doing civil engineering. His mission while he was there was to assist the Taiwanese in designing and building their international airport. Their daughter, my wife, was a toddler then and we have a picture of her playing with the children. My bother-in-law was born there. Through your video my in-laws were able to relive their times in Taiwan. You probably didn't know it, but the video even caught the office in the old government building where my father-in-law worked. My in-law's family traveled to and from Taiwan by ship in those days. I know from watching this video that it wasn't made without its challenges, but it was also very rewarding. Thank you so very much!

I like eastern foods and Italian as well. I grew up on a lot of meatloaves, meat and potatoes and green beans and lots of milk. We had a diary farm.
I was watching the playback and you should definitely visit SF (rather than LA ??)! More walkable and down to earth than LA IMO but then again I may be biased. Recommend coming in Sept or Oct when the weather’s best. I’d be happy to show you around as a local living here for the past 26 years! Happy travels ?
