I had a slight problem with “the username and password were not accepted by the remote vpn server”, the fixes that work for me are simple: try to restart Tunnelblick, or change vpn address.
I’m not going to use it because I don’t trust it, but i like how you explain things.

Couldn't find UDP only TCP on DDS hostname or IP address, I am on a MAC OS by the way if that helps.
If you're on a Mac I wouldn't go anywhere near Tunnelblick – the install broke my OS X Mojave installation so badly I had to re-install the OS (suddenly not wifi networks could be connected to!)
