5. Use OpenVPN is much secure than PPTP. PPTP is obsolete and should be used only on old devices who don't have enough perf spec to run OpenVPN.

   If you can use OpenVPN, use it
   
   If you can't use OpenVPN, buy a new router.

    I have the nighthawk x10 and wondering where I find out how to flash it in easy to understand language like your video.
    Received an email from cable company because my son didn’t make sure that IPVanish was running. So I’m trying to prevent a second notice or losing my cable.

You had unplugged your other router to prevent interference but I can’t since it is built in with my modem.

33. i rent my modem/router from comcast.. im guessing im not able or allowed to flash this router right? also have voip on this router.. its a pos router cause u cant access hardly any features, comcast/xfinity keeps them from you.. so i would love to flash it

    First I would like to Thank You for all the emails on Tips and Tricks for Kodi.
    I’m having issues trying to get IPVanish on my NETGEAR Nighthawk X10. Now I found out in your video I need an Open network.
    I was streaming Kodi and my IPVanish must have shut down or didn’t work because I received a email from my cable company for using music download,torrent etc and if it happens again they will stop my cable.
    If you dual routers do they need to be the same model? I’m mean like both need to be NETGEAR?
    Any help you could give me so I can print something to see how I flash my Nighthawk X10 or R9000

38. Anyone know if the R7000 DD-WRT build will handle a 350Mbp/s (SYNCHRONOUS) ISP connection with a 255.255.255.248 (IPv4 /29 block) ? Basically I have a 5 static IPs in a block. The ISP provided cable modem provides an internal 4-port 1Gbit ethernet port switch with :
    xx.xx.xx.33 – network/gateway address
    xx.xx.xx.34 – IP 1
    xx.xx.xx.35 – IP 2
    xx.xx.xx.36 – IP 3
    xx.xx.xx.37 – IP 4
    xx.xx.xx.38 – IP 5
    xx.xx.xx.39 – Network broadcast address

    I ask because I currently need a router for every IP, but the modem only has a 4-way switch. I've have it running through a rack-mounted cisco enterprise switch which let me set up 5 IPs on a single port using subinterfaces – but it was a noisy beast, even in the basement.

    Will an R7000 to handle 350up/350down ? Can DD-WRT handle a /29 netblock?
