  2. You're spot on with a lot of these takes. I think 1917 is something that you'll rate lower as time goes on and or more viewings though. Once upon a time is not the best of Dicaprio or Tarantino although Pitt was pretty good. Parasite seems like a movie you will rate higher over time and with more viewings. 10/10 absolutely titanic achievement. Uncut Gems should've had some noms, and Defoe as well.

  5. Zellweger is phenomenal in Judy she dang deserves this.. Also loved Theron. Even if Johanson wins (I found both her performances embarrassing tbh), she will always be mentioned in future tributes titled "the most undeserving Oscar winners in history".. Best movie : only PARASITES !!

I strongly disagree with what you said about Marriage Story.. found it boring & trying too hard to extort my emotions & the script not masterful at all, sth was off there.. the two leading parts not at all realistic (only if you count the bad haircuts ?) , Driver tho gave a good performance.. Johanson is NOT an actress & she proves it here in all forms: same mannerisms as when she 's in Fallon.. another actress would of made wonders in this film. I' m truly amazed how she got nominated.. Only delight the 3 law practitionners.. overall a bad, overrated, lobby supported movie… Sorry _

  8. I don't think the argument is that there should be a certain percentage of female director noms each year. I mean people are making that argument, but I think its more that there are at least two female directors this year who absolutely deserve recognition (Lulu Wang and Greta Gerwig). In fact I'll go out on a limb and say that The Farewell is the most undeservedly snubbed film of this year.

Sorry Margot Robbie has zero chances of winning, Scarlett would be a shock if she wins best leading, and I don't agree with The Irishman and Jojo, Jojo is so great, great acting, it's emotional, great dialogue and it's a better movie than Irishman, that gets carried by the great acting, when the movies is basically De Niro showing off how great Frank Sheeran was despite being a piece shit that kills one his best friends, but the movie instead chooses to glorify his actions, and it makes the movie have zero emotional weight.
