Lion king is animation, no visual FX. FX is an insertion of an inexistent visual onto a real scene.
If L. King is indeed CGI throughout the entire film, that’s animation.
De-aging on the Irishman wasn’t that impressive, I prefer the few shots of Linda Hamilton in Terminator dark fate or Chris Evans as old cap.

I like Brad and Leo and QTs other films but I think once upon a time in Hollywood was extremely overrated or best picture worthy. Also there’s this thing called video games that’s been doing the lion king thing for decades and some recent games did it better. Plus no matter how good the fx are lion king was a heartless remake of an animated classic. I hope 1917 wins best picture (not seen parasite doesn’t show where I live)

The screenplay categories, production design and editing are the categories I am most excited for this year. Those are the only unpredictable categories this year. The rest of the awards are pretty much confirmed

What is John talking about? Toy Story 4 won Critics choice and PGA. It didn't Win Annie award (Neither did Toy Story 3) or Golden Globe (who cares). Other than that, It has won all other major awards with Klaus winning the Annie.

Bong Joon Ho winning best director wouldn't be a huge upset. Joker might be the most overrated movie in the history of movies. I dissagree with Johns point on academy voters not seeing a lot of movies. How can the voting process be fair to all movies when a portion of the voters dont even bother to watch some small budget movies. Its probably one of the reasons why Glenn Close didnt win last year.
Not enough of people saw her performance. If movies like Waves and honey boy were huge box office successes or shown on netflix
they probably would have been nominated.
