I ve got to be honnest! I've never actually watched the Oscar's! I kinda feel like it's a popularity contest with a lot of bribery and political influence not about who was actully the best actor and the best film ect. These have no influence in which movies I choose. However i had no idea you could actully have a bet on them! This may change my plans in the future i may start watching them!
my word there doesnt seem to be nearly as much Oscar buzz this year compared to last- apart from all the joker talk of course- actually last year's Oscars don't feel like that long ago to me at all

I think I can agree with a lot of what you are saying, it sounds like it is going to be locks for a lot of the awards but we have seen before, locks doesn't always mean an Oscar so we'll have to wait until the night
I have to see “The Lighthouse”. Someone told me a little bit about it and it sounded cool.

Hello Wes!!! This is whole thing with betting on the oscars is craziness to me but it also adds a little excitement to it! The best visual effects really catches my eye. I just watched The Lion King last weekend… loved that movie but you are right. It's more of an animation FULL of CGI. However, the effects did look REALLY incredible. I love when a movie like 1917 (even though I didn't see it) puts you right in that atmosphere. I have to see that one, BIG TIME!
Parasite seems to be getting tons of praise and attention. I think I heard you talk about this one the other night on William's stream. So many solid choices here.
Best costume design…. best makeup… let's bet the freaking house on this stuff hahaha. The sound editing is something I'm interested to here the result of. And some I am iffy on seeing like joker but toy story 4 is a good contender for animated film

Best picture will be 1917 or Parasite. Leaning more 1917.
I want Joker to win so many awards, because it's a wonderful movie and it being a comic book movie kind of makes it an underdog. I'm just sad that The Lighthouse was snubbed. Uncut Gems should've been nominated to some categories as well. Anyway, great video, man! I love the lighting you used with the cold and warm lights on your face.
I BET you really know your stuff with film 😉 see what I did there. I'm looking forward to the Oscars, always fun for me to see who wins and all that jazz, but like a lot of people I'm more keen to see who wins the big ones, best movie, best actor! I'm a simpleton at best 😉 My daughter loves toy story 4 so I hope it wins for best animation. I really liked Marriage story, thought it was really well done story wise, wasn't a big cinematic film but heavy on the story.
Interesting thoughts, but how could a South-Korean production win Best Picture? It has, never, happened and, since it is a complicated year for the Oscars with too many snubs, I don't think this could happen.
I really hope Joker wins something, I personally couldn't fault that film!

I really enjoyed this video, it’s as fun as your reactions. I’m not a big Oscar fan so unfortunately I have to take you word for most of these but I love the passion and discussion
Ford vs Ferrari is going to go down as one of the greatest car movies, but a couple of the racing scenes just aren't believable and I have no clue why Matt Damon was cast as Shelby- the two look nothing alike and it wasn't an accurate portrayal of the real Carrol Shelby. Everyone else was ok, but it was a very Hollywoody movie. Can't comment on the sound though.

for visual effects, what you think about Gemini man de-aging effects as compare to Irishman. i think the clown going to take it all but there are some great movies last year.

I liked the Irishman plus i am a lifelong fan of DeNiro and pesci, and also love most Scorsese's movies.
I agree 1917 will win the big one. or it should, I think Joker will win or more so Joaquin will win for best actor as he should in my opinion. Good predictions Wes and if anyone knows his films it would definitely be you sir!
