  2. there are websites that sell nordvpn account and other accounts so it is happening and i even got a software that will scan through all emails to find accounts

  7. I'd like a plain English explanation of how various VPNs work. 

    For commercial VPNs, free vs. fee (specifically, how do free VPNs make any money?).

    I can also set up a VPN on my router. Then, I imagine, it would be available any time the router was on (my router can be scheduled to turn off the WiFI, but that wouldn't shut down the WAN connection). How do I point my various devices to that VPN (laptop/phone/tablet when abroa); any device when at home); when at home, are both WiFi and wired (Ethernet) connections protected by such a VPN?

    My subscription to Bitdefender includes a VPN, but that must (I guess) run on my computer, so the computer must be both 1) running, i.e. not asleep, and 2) connected to the internet.

    When I go to a local coffeeshop, I go through the WiFI capture routine, and THEN connect to my home VPN, I'm not protected using a VPN until that capture routine is complete.

    I have no clue about the various technical flavors of VPN (OpenVPN, L2TP, etc.).

    Asking for busy retirees everywhere. Note: I'm focussed on individual needs, not enterprise needs.

  12. Is ipvanish any good? Im aware of the historical indecent that occured when it was under different ownership few years back. But I'm talking more in terms of performance rather than security. I'm not considering using a VPN because I'm not concerned about privacy (there's no such thing) I'm interested in circumnavigating censorship

  19. But something fishy is going on with nord vpn be cause they are selling premium plans for 70% and there are many 3rd party sellers for 1$ for an account with 3year premium plan ????

  27. I have a question. My browsers keep saying pages are not encrypted, even ones I know are solid websites. It even happens with Google and always the main Optimum website. All virus scans have been clean. My ISP claims that it is an issue and shouldnt happen but have no solutions. Do you think this is an actual issue or is there a simple explanation?

  29. Whenever a company get "hacked" it is just an excuse for those company selling access to your data for government spy. Many are fooled by "freedom" . In reality it is just an illusion of privacy.
