  1. I know it didn’t have a chance but Midsommar NEEDED the nom for best score, AND best cinematography. Like cmon gases and Fire temple are insanely amazing and cmon. Also joker? JOKER over Midsommar, even once upon a time too!!! you have got to be kidding me.

  2. Back to the Future wasn’t even nominated for score. Actually, some of the best scores of all time weren’t nominated for score like Psycho, Vertigo, The Godfather and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

  3. I’m not one for talking snubs, so I’m not great at coming up with them, but a few of mine are:
Awkwafina for best actress (The Farewell)
Ana de Armas for best actress (Knives Out)
Willem Defoe for best actor (the lighthouse)
Adam Sandler for best actor (uncut gems)
    Uncut Gems for Best Picture
    The Farewell for Best Picture
I doubt a lot of people will agree with me on the first out of these two, but it’s just what I think: Knives out for best picture and director

  4. I feel like if the Oscars actually want more people to start watching again they need to listen to what (non political) movie fans want at the very least for the nominations.

  5. i am so fucking disappointed in these nominations….i say it because i think the academy and the oscars have forgotten what they are really about, they are about celebration of cinema and the craft of filmmaking…and having only white dudes as nominees might have worked in the past, this last decade has diversified the hollywood industry and there have been amazing stories about people of colour and their performances this year and by not acknowledging them oscars are denying the celebration of cinema of these stories which are being told for the first time in a deacde…also i think its shouldnt be about who's the best actor/director in these sort of things,…i know scorcese's irishman will be better than greta gerwig's little women but scorcese's gangster movies are widely celebrated and respected, lets just put it aside and acknowledge greta gerwig for telling a modern spin on tale of womanhood in a deeply patriachal society and doing it with same expertise as scorcese….for all i can tell scorcese would never be able to make little women….also i hate the fact that they just ignored strong women performances of the year of Awkwafina who freaking won the golden globe but didnt even got nominated…i mean in past two decade how much have you seen a movie about an asian person dealing with their family and their traditions,or JLo whose performance was so good in telling stories of disenfranchised minority woman in US or Lupita Nyongo who gave not one but two wildly different performances in Us but alas unless as a black person if you are not playing a slave or a person being oppresed by racism, you arent even considered for an award…..this year did women so bad

  6. I don't the idea of once a upon time in Hollywood getting so my nomination after they insulted legend Like Bruce Lee Americans might not like him but I assure you that he is still very popular in the rest of the world…

  7. many movies patterned their score from Back to the Future, of course they tweaked it to not sound like copycats, but the similarities are there..

  8. There are quite a bit, but The Farewell, the cast from The Lighthouse, Taron Egerton, Lulu Wang and Greta Gerwig for, of all people, Todd Phillips.

  9. Oscars didn’t want to celebrate two Asian movies; Parasite was overwhelmingly popular so they completely snubbed Farewell. How ridiculous! Oscars, you still have a long way to go.

  10. I personally think they pushed back on a lot of the “celebrity picks.” No love for JLo, Sandler, Beyoncé, seems like they may have been going against the “internet favorites” and keeping the Oscars among the people who the Academy feels like are part of them.

  11. I was shocked when Sandler did not get nominated. I was so sad. Even tho I prefer Joaquin over Sandler….I would have rooted for Sandler bcz it would have been so amazing if he win. I actually can not get it out of my head.

  12. I just watched Klaus and so glad I did…Not ashamed to admit to shedding a few tears, and the song “Invisible” could easily be a best song as far as I’m concerned. Thanks for the heads up.

  13. I don't really believe in snubs in general because saying that X was overviewed and subbed means you need to say that it is plain ridiculous that Y was nominated over it. I don't really see any of that with these nominations.

  14. Not much talk in the comments about Lupita Nyong’o getting snubbed. Movies that come out in the first few months of a year never get recognized. Damn shame.
