I very much doubt graphics will improve massively yes they will improve the biggest bottleneck of current gen ps4/xone was weak CPU's next gen's CPU's are massively powerful which will allow better physics destruction more NPC's better AI etc thats what mostly will improve with next-gen rather then graphics

  3. aggry in texture details i things the dont need more but to mack foto realistic is not enough to have only the lighting and face expression i need to have good physics as well and the physics is not even close in to realistic the physics yet yes i have gravity object and clothing but the is more is physics not even close to made physics lick snow or meny others complex physics personally i hop to improve the physics the graphic is already good

  5. Went back to playing Monster Hunter World on the Pro. Actually the game looks very good on my 4k TV. Not photo realistic, but the art style and environmental detail and motion quality of humans and monsters is superb. The improvements most needed are, resolution, frame rates and load times.

  6. it depend what they choose like high resolution is invisible for human eye to see the difference but increase framerate is more visible and better quality on screen

  7. Games WILL look better. 4K textures and ray tracing with make all the difference and with that if polygon counts can get high enough and motion is there, we’ll hit that uncanny valley

  8. I don't think it's close but I think the generation after this one needs to be down the road a little farther than usual.

  9. There's more to consoles than just graphics anyway, such as features. Plus there's things to make a gaming experience better than just how pretty it looks. More power means being able to do more, more destructible environments is one example.

  11. Are TVs going to hit a resolution dead end?

    We went from standard definition to HD (720p, 1080p). Now we have 4K. 8K is a known future resolution. Even though consoles started chasing the resolution dragon like TVs, they haven't even maxed out what graphics could do with 1080p. Need an example? Textures are made of set number of pixels. Get the camera close enough, and you will see those pixels bigger but, smoothed out better than previous gens. Same with 3D objects. Get close enough to a car tire or a ball, and you'll notice straight lines connected at angles.
    Like others have stated, consoles, nor PCs, have matched movie CG. When they do, they will have to keep improving to stay equal with movie CG. And every time we move to a higher resolution, you get smaller spaces to work in greater detail. The brick wall is far away.

  12. Seriously, if someone says that there's not much difference between 2 tflops and 10 tflops then he is an idiot. That's 5 times the computing power current gen had so there's gonna be a huge leap as long as Sony or M$ doesn't insist that games use 4k or 8k graphics because that would be just waste of graphical power wasted on resolution we don't really even need yet.

  13. There is no such thing as a brick wall(yet). You need to think of rendering of the world graphics and how much better the graphics will become with faster rendering and loading times. Photo realism will only be true when you move close to items or characters, and your neck hear raises because you cannot believe its not real. Also you need to think about virtual reality and all the dimensions that goes with making the graphics in that seem so real that you "wont know" if you are playing a game or not

    If we do have a gen where devs have to focus on things other than graphic fidelity to sell their games then I think it's for the better.

  15. They are nowhere near photo-realistic graphics in my opinion. Especially when it comes to human movement. From what I’ve seen of the next-gen it looks great but it still isn't ’photo-realistic’ yet.
