  1. Not a good actress she’s JLo on every movie. Never do she transform into characters. Selena movie the look yeah, the character was JLo not Selena.

  2. JLo has played the rags to riches thing in Hustlers, Second Act, Maid in Manhattan (low-key, although that wasn't the focus at all. Read this again if you're gonna come for me in the comments) and that other movie whose name I can't remember.
So I guess if she broke that and found her groove more in something like Selena, I guess she'd get a nomination soon enough!

  3. Just gonna put this out there because it's important: Greta Gerwig was NOT snubbed by the Oscars.

I've seen all 10-15 awards films this year and there's no irrefutable argument that Little Women was better directed than any of the 5 nomimees (Irishman, Once Upon, Joker, Parasite, 1917). When you say Greta Gerwig was snubbed, you're implying that either one of the top 5 needs to be pushed out (which is unfair) OR we need to expand the number of nominees till a female-directed film is included (which dilutes the competition). The number of nominees is small for a reason – it keeps the bar high and maintains the value of an Oscar.

We need to empower women so they actually direct a top 5 film, not hand out nominations or awards because a director is female. And there are tangible ways to do this: have studios trust more female directors with big films, write better roles for women, have equal pay, diversify the voting body to include more women. If we do all this, female-directed films will naturally start getting nominated based on their merit. But reserving nominations or awards in the name of inclusion is a short-sighted and inherently flawed way of getting there.

PS: None of this is a slight on Little Women. In my opinion, it was the 7th or 8th best directed film of the year and that's a terrific achievement. It has also been nominated for Best Picture, which the "Greta Gerwig was snubbed" headlines seem to ignore.

  4. Willem Dafoe not being nominated for best supporting actor for his role in the best movie of 2019 The Lighthouse is probably the biggest snub I’ve ever seen in the Oscars history.

  5. Avengers ENDGAME got snubbed as well. It should've been nominated for Best Picture. I guess the Oscar's are VERY bias against Superhero movies. I feel like the Oscar Best Picture nomination in 2018 of Black Panther was a pity nomination.
