  1. 0:07 He must have spotted the clock that shows him the amount of time left for his speech. With the translations, they should give at least double the time. Glad he asked them to understand xD

  2. You know a translator is good when you can get a laugh out of the audience and a standing ovation.

It's really difficult to articulate Korean in a way that gets the message across. That girl has a future at the UN I think.

Wonderful movie and definitely much deserved here. I was very pleasantly surprised as highly recommended. 🙂

  3. S. Korean films and dramas are massively underrated in the film industry all around. A whole lot of them would trump American movies if they were nominated over in America. Train To Busan was one of the best movies of its year and it got little to no recognition what so ever.

  4. He came to my university back in October last year, got to see him speak two rows away from me. Incredible man and incredible filmmaker. Honored to even be in the same room as him.

  5. Part of me wants this to win an Oscar so Americans can maybe get a glimpse into the brilliant world of Korean cinema…but part of me is selfish and wants it to continue to stay low on the Americans radar so people like us, who appreciate this art, can continue to do so without Hollywood sticking its finger in it. Already hearing of and American series for this movie on HBO…Either way, I will continue to support Korean cinema and continue to hope Hollywood directors can begin to take notes.

  6. I only Iike foreign films when I have an interest in that country's culture (Spain, china,UK, HK, korea, japan) And if the cinematography and plot are good and worth watching. If I didn't have a interest in traveling to different countries, I would have never started watching foreign films. But I'm glad I did.

  7. Ricky G would approve of this standard for an acceptance speech. Didn't use his platform to make a political statement and he kept it short and sweet. lol

  8. Yeah he said this but I’m in Seoul right now and non of the main theater chains here (Lotte and CGV which are like the Regal and AMC in the US) plays local Korean movies with English subtitles. So how bout you preach to the Korean movie industry first about accessibility. K thanks.

  9. I haven’t watched this movie but am interested. I wonder, since it was unclear by the trailer, is it a horror film? I ask only because I definitely won’t watch it if is. I just don’t really like true horror films. Suspenseful films, I’m fine with but actual horror films are too much for me. Would like to know if someone can answer that for me.

  10. Love Kdramas. Haven't seen this film but it's probably good. I don't speak Korean and I'm European, but talent unites us and makes us one while honoring our own boarders and culture.

  11. If your one of those people who waste time looking for something to watch and complain you’ve watched everything and you never have watched South Korean movies.Your missing out BIG TIME!

  12. Hopefully he doesn’t think American awards are the highest achievement cause even all of us know how corrupt and biased these shows are

  13. It's really amazing seeing a movie getting a lot of buzz for humor, originality and suspense that is from another country of a different language.
