  1. I've seen a lot of comments about why 'Joker' isn't nominated for more categories. While I think Phoenix's performance is phenomenal, I don't believe the direction or cinematography compares to the films I've predicted. 2019 has been a great year for cinema all around.   3. You missed Uncut Gems… Adam Sandler should have definitely been nominated for the Oscar, instead of Jonathan Pryce, and maybe even instead of Leo! He was that fucking great! The Safdie Brothers, Shia Labeouf, Adam Sandler, Robert Pattinson, etc… will all one day make it to the Oscars!

  9. Pretty good list, both the two popes actors making it in was definitely a slight surprise as was the supporting actress from Richard Jewell. I expected Frozen 2 to be snubbed but was hoping for Dolemite was my Name to get in somewhere. I personally had a feeling that the Farewell was going to be shut and that the Lighthouse would get little love. On the whole Oscars got it pretty right (except too many nominations for Joker)

  15. What a great year for movies!!! Let’s all take a moment to remember bohemian rhapsody and green book were actual movies that came out last year

  21. Really hoping for a Best Actor nomination for Sandler in Uncut Gems. He does an excellent job at selling his character and bring a lot of life to that film. Ideally, I'd also like to see a cinematography nomination and a best director nomination for the Safdie brothers, but I doubt that'll happen.

  27. The fact US is never getting attention makes it a bust between the cinematography Lupita Nyong’o in her first starring role and finally the direction and screenplay by Jordan Peele that is should be the biggest bust in my opinion

I know it would basically be breaking Oscar tradition it'd be so unprecedented, but I honestly believe Kang-Ho Song and/or Park So-Dam /could/ secure nominations for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress respectively for Parasite. They were just as good, if not better, than some of the people in those categories.

    Also, any predictions for winners?

  30. Am I the only one that things that Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is so overrated just because it was made by Tarantino?

    I won't even put Tarantino in the best director category, I'll put Todd Phillips. Neither as Best Movie…
