  1. This cinematic disaster deserves a Razzie Awards for the worst movie ever and the biggest disappointment ever, an Oscar for a crap like that?! Are you kidding?!

  2. So when did this turn into a longevity thing? So when a character from a long running series of movies and or show dies, they deserve an oscar? Oh I see, it's because it's an MCU movie. Gotcha. By that logic, Hulk deserves an oscar too. This movie is overrated by far.

  3. the comment here about whether rdj should get an oscar is completely a different story to some other youtube videos out there.

  4. Endgame is the highest grossing film of all time. Each film, besides Jursssic Park (which wasn't nominated for Picture because Spielberg made Schindlers List the same year), that has held the title for highest grossing film of all time has been nominated for Best Picture…

Gone With the Wind won, Sound of Music won, Jaws was nominated, Star Wars was nominated, Titanic won, and Avatar was nominated.

Endgame is falling into the same category. It will for sure get a Picture, Adapted Screenplay, Film Editing, Visual Effects, and Sound Editing/Mixing. It has a really good shot at Score, but seeing how the Academy fucked over First Man, they'll end up doing the same. RDJ has a shot in Supporting Actor, not lead. Too much competition in lead with DiCaprio, DeNiro, Egerton, Hanks, Phoenix, and many more. Depending on how the rest of the year looks, I don't see it impossible for a directing nomination for the Russos. Supporting Actress for Johansson wouldn't be impossible if she didn't have JoJo Rabbit and Noah Baumbatch's new film on the radar. Cinematography and Costume Design are the only other two categories you could make an argument for a nominee. While Costume Design isn't far-fetched and not impossible, it is a strong year for that category, so I don't expect it. Cinematography is not happening.

It's the Oscars though, so they'll end up fucking it up somehow (i.e First Man, Eighth Grade, Blade Runner 2049, Logan, Creed, Interstellar, Deathly Hallows Part 2, 50/50, etc).

  5. do you imagine endgame actually winning best picture, that would make history (it also would be hilarious how that movie has so many people that they say, "there aren't enough oscars for everyone)

  6. No.
It will win several behind-camera awards.
The AMPAS voters don’t like movies that aren’t historical or real life human drama. They view these “cartoon movie” as popcorn fluff.
Powerful acting, excellent writing & directing, won’t win any of it.

  7. You've made solid points. I hope RDJ gets his long overdue Oscar. Shoulda got it on his first try with Chaplin in my opinion. His performance in Endgame was spectacular. Went out with a BANG!

  8. If being 'game changing' is important, isn't the MCU game changing? With Endgame representing that.
Really, a cinematic universe and lots of superhero films have had no effect of the film industry? Is it possible to argue that?

  9. all of the main cast contributed that made the film great. If there was a best ensemble or best performance by a cast for oscars, they definitely deserved it. On an acting standpoint, if they want to nominate someone, rdj is the mvp followed by scarlett. Even hemsworth, which no one even mentions, gave more emotional range in this movie than evans did. I just think evans benefited on a better written storyline for his character in this movie that what the others got and did good with it.

  10. At first thought, an Oscar nomination for his role as Tony is a little strange. But if you think about it, it makes sense. Aside from his exceptional performance, RDJ as iron man is really important. It’s the culmination of his career, as it literally saved his life and changed the course of how we watch and cast and make these kinds of movies. RDJ knee he owes all he has now to his role, and he showed that every time he put on the armor for 11 years now. An Oscar would be a reflection of those 11 years of dedication and a lasting legacy.
