  1. my main char is currently at upgrade quest to 11 i think and like i just cant be arsed anymore to farm the 10k needed for an run im so tired of the farm of the 10k.

  2. I am a lazy visioner, so I am at 5 vessels. But I made the mistake of opening a major assault chest because I wanted the mementos in it for research progression.
If you don't open your major assault chests right-away (which contain a vessel), you can save extra vessels beyond the 5er cap! (Save minor ones to get a bigger coalescing visions buffer.)
As for the existing system, it's probably intended to be that way: If you save up because you perform well, you get rewarded. You can't argue for even less performance reward than there already is via the catchup system. If you screw up a lot, you 'fall behind'. This patch will be endgame for a very long time. The only people who need to worry about falling behind are ambitious raiders and such, and that type of player is unlikely to screw up. – The thing is, if you use up all your vessels, it makes things easier, because you farm more mementos that way. And this can also help you if you carefully minimized your first runs to only Thrall.
Yeah, it might be an odd system, but I find it interesting to reward not just 'brute force' rushing-forward, 'farmbotting', but distinguishing the pro player through the ability to plan ahead and invest resources wisely.

  3. Honestly, this system is perfect in giving players choice. There are two routes players can take if they so choose, with a massive grey area in between. On one hand, you can use up all of your visions each week because you love the content, with the catch-up keeping you from falling too far behind. While on the other, you can just do the visions just for upgrades allowing you to finish the cloak a couple weeks ahead. With, from what I can tell, not much real gain seeing as it takes full clears per rank anyway. Now you have the middle ground where you bank until you're rank 10, then doing the visions as you please to help others or just for fun. Allowing yourself to get ahead a little, but again not falling very far behind.

  4. Not like it matters if you finish 2 weeks early when this is the end of the expansion. With 8.3.5 cancelled we have nothing at all in terms of new content for another 9+ months.

  5. You're trying to sound outraged…but what you're talking about is something small that doesnt matter. If they decide this isnt working as intended they'll fix it but who cares? Run it on an alt if you want practice without using your extra vessels.

  6. Huh… i didn't watch anything in advance and got my cloak to lvl 3, then I got bored, i started exploring and looking around till I found something that killed me every time… I'm still at lvl 3. I guess I'm doomed for all eternity…

  7. Used to binge WoW every hour I wasn’t in school since I was 13. I’m 22 now. I work in a mechanic garage 48 hours a week. Trust me, I don’t mind falling behind. Don’t kill everyone’s momentum on my behalf, lmao.

  8. When i was reading the commentaries, I can understand people who doesn't have the time to do all the things and if they want to progress at their own pace. But i have some … problems with people that want to push heroic raids / MM+ (in pick up) at the beginning of a tier without some motivation and "tryhard" from their part in order to get the best that they can get. And it's a big group of people in PU…

  9. while i'm thinking of saving, i have the feeling that i will require memento and research to do a full run so i may end up falling a lot more than i should without research

  10. This patch is terrible. Too many currencies and systems in place. Plus the content is just not fun. Invasions and visions are like watching paint dry.

  11. I like the idea of not having vessels in the first place. Just gate the quests by week and then people that fall behind could simply just do a bunch of visions in a short period of time and be 100% caught up. And people could also simply run them for the fun and challenge. You only get the loot once per difficulty level in the first place.

  12. You're blowing things out of proportion. This is mostly a concern for mythic progression raiders trying to progress as quickly as possible. Most player's concern would be losing out on cloak levels hurting early full clears of raid finder, normal or heroic. Being behind our progression at those levels is far more of an impact. Also, gearing is meant to be progressive anyway so I doubt blizzard is worried about that taking a bit longer to clear content. It also makes content progressively easier as time goes on, which has seems to always be a goal of Blizzard in the final major patch of an expansion.

  13. There is no point in doing more horrific visions then whats needed for the cloak anyway as gear isnt even dropping from doing them.

  14. It's stupid people like this, that make me realize why a Blizzard developer wouldn't want to talk to the playerbase. We complained incessantly about uncapped power progression systems (AP and island grind, anyone?) only to now complain about a capped power progression system.

    Make up your minds, hypocrites.

  15. I really appreciate that people like you and Hazelnutty can be critical of Blizzard at times while still being positive in the overall scheme of things, i can't stand that couple that never say a bad word about Blizzard and kiss Ion's ass every week (T+E), i can't trust someone that's too scared to be honest for fear of upsetting their benefactors.

  16. I'm not gonna put any effort into this system. They'll just change it later so people that haven't caught up will have some stupid mechanic to catch up way faster than they can now, then the next xpac will launch and the cloak will be overshadowed by a green level item.

  17. Remove the 10k currency req for vessels and make horriffic vision accessible anytime only the cloak upgrade require you to complete a full horrific vision with extra difficultys and changes weekly. Like this even if you fail yoh can always try again because please some of us are CE players and failed some cloak upgrade and legit lost our mythic raiding spots why blizzard ruining our characters ! I'll be posting on forum more details of the idea and i honestly hope blizzard take a look on it but i will need the community help kn this or you'll never recover on your main or alt if you fail or miss a single week of assaults.

  18. This is not one of your better videos. Could they have implemented time gating better? Yes. But to say that not having it at all is better than having some is absolutely ridiculous. Just because grinding for small amounts of currency is ridiculous and a massive use of time doesn't mean people won't do it. Look at islands. You're charts to max rank w/o time gating do not take into account those who would spend hours a week in the lesser visions farming coalescing visions plus all the rares, all the events and all the chests in both zones, which I would feel obligated to do so that I don't fall behind. You assume that people will only be able to get 3 visions per week… I'm already getting close to an extra vision per week on my main (where I farm a small amount and do dailies) compared to my alt (where I only do a daily lesser vision). Without time gating this would be even more exaggerated. I and many others (it's not just world first ppl that grind their face against this stuff) would just farm endlessly. But with time gating, I can enjoy my visions, if I fail one in the beginning while I'm getting used to them I'm not perma behind (I can farm JUST enough to be able to save as many visions as someone that failed none), and most importantly I don't have to grind coalescing visions for 16 hrs a day to no end. Also, the fact that there is a cap on the number of vessels you can have and visions currency you can carry means people won't have to grind their face off until that point, because, like you said in your graph, people will end up hitting that cap anyways.

  19. I really like this system. I can try to push in the visions, because I simply can play safer, if I happen to fail one, and won't miss cloak progress. And on my alts I just do the three assaults and won't miss out on too much progression.

  20. Can you stack up on the chests that you get from the assaults? If so, you could just keep them as containers for the currency and get even more vessels on demand once you start needing them

  21. And blizzard calling it a "catch up mechanic" now. It's a cant get ahead mechanic. Blizzard will throw time hating on everything they can. Hell the corruption system is just titanforge with time hating added

  22. my cloak is rank 6 today and I failed in my very first run also have 4 talents in console, so i would have been rank 7 in first week if i had not failed! 🙁
