  1. Last Night in Soho as an oscar contender? I hope so. More importantly, I want this to be good.

    I mean horror movies in general never get enough love. I want another horror flick to get nominated.

  2. For best animated feature, I want to see How do you Live win. We haven't seen Ghibli win an Oscar in years. I mean, Frozen over The Wind freaking Rises!? I still call BS on that award.

  6. I will be extremely happy if, of course, Glenn Close and Amy Adams win Oscars (I'd rather see them and Saoirse Ronan being snubbed for nominations than losing again). But Michelle Pfeiffer and Viola Davis (as a lead) are very overdue aswell! If there's an actress that NEEDS to become both the second black Best Actress winner and the first black actress to have two Oscars, that's Viola.

  7. Honestly last year there might not have been a female in the directing category but who could it have been. Maybe Phillips shouldn't have made it but I'm pretty sure that baumbach was the one that deserved that spot. I don't think it's a gender thing

  24. No other filmaker is more overdue and making masterpiece after masterpiece like Christopher Nolan, I would love to see Fincher or Villenueve winning, but I just feel that it is Christopher Nolan's year, he should've won for Dunkirk and Inception, so the academy will lean towards him.

  29. Considering Sonic The Hedgehog for best VFX? Nice! I mean Alita was a contender before. It was pretty awesome to see the academy give a shout out to the anime community.

    But it would be awesome if video game adaptations got the love they needed.

  32. the biggest Injustice in Oscar history in my opinion is a tie for Alfred Hitchcock never winning best director and the same for Stanley Kubrick he won best visual effects but never director that to me is sinful.

  35. Honestly, I feel like Tenet should get more attention. Even though it has an early release, the whole plot as well as the directing style of Christopher Nolan is something that will put it ahead of many other films. Although, I cant deny that I am really excited for The Trial of the Chicago 7 and Mank

  36. Guessing Jon Chu and Chloe Zhao over Del Toro and Wes Anderson is ballsy, as is putting Sorkin in there! Hope this is Saoirse and/or Amy Adams' year!
