Benigni, in my opinion, didn't even deserve an Oscar nod. Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski was a better comedic perfomance than Roberto.

I really love Life is Beautiful. But this is one of the worst Best Actor winning of all time. Benigni deserves best screenplay, or even best Picture, but not best actor. Weinstein's agressive Oscars campaign was responsable for this boring moment.
This film is garbage and a big insult and dishonor to holocaust victims we all love Italy and Italian culture but not that chaos.
