  1. I believe Parasite's producers did not submit an entry in Son Kang Ho's behalf. And that is why he did not get nominated. You can basically tell from the way they promoted this movie. Parasite has always been attached to Bong Joon Ho and the production. They're targeting the big awards and want to focus the voter's attention to Direction and Best Picture.

  2. I agree re: Lupita vs Charlize. Charlize was all technique in Bombshell. The transformation is fascinating but that's all there is to it. Her characterization is superficial. What hurt Lupita is I truly feel that Us is such a mess. It sucked. And while Lupita is technically amazing in Us, I didn't care at all about her character and couldn't take her performance seriously.

  3. I also wanted Kang Ho Song to be nominated. I haven't seen Tom Hank's movie but I do hope he's more deserving of a nomination than Song. If he is then I'd probably replace Pesci with Song.

  4. Jennifer Lopez just played herself in Hustlers. Decent performance but not really worthy of an award. I'd rather Shuzhen Zhao in The Farewell or Julia Fox in Uncut Gems or heck even Maggie Smith in Downton Abbey be nominated than JLo.

  12. Yay Scarlett got nominated for Marriage Story! I saw a prediction video which said she wouldn't be. Laura Dern for best supporting of course, but sad Nicole Kidman was not there.
