12. My Moto X 2nd Gen ended up stuck on boot loop. I tried using the cmd command fastboot -w but that didn't help. so it looks like I'm going to be searching online the next few hours to see if I can fix this.

    people who are stuck at the boot logo of android as your device was android 6.0 but this boot flash is for lollipop i guess… so to get out of softbrick after hours of net surfing its actually very easy…
    1. in your android goto the fastboot mode..
    2. in your pc run adb mode(cmd in platform-tools)
    3. connect your device to pc
    4. type this command(it will erase all your data) –> fastboot -w

    done….
    hope it works.

20. Guys before rooting your moto x 2014 make sure you don't have android 6.0 or you will softbrick your device with this method!!!!!!!

23. So I unlocked the boot loader and tried to download supersu and it kept saying not enough space to install even though the phone is completely wiped. I then tried to download other apps and nothing will now download from either google play store or any apk. What do I do?

25. FOR ANY 5.1 android USER YOU CAN ROOT YOUR DEVICE :
    -do as +Tim Scolfield (Qbking77) say in tutorial
    -instead of intall the supersu of the playstore install the BETA one here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133

    -install king root
    -root with Kingroot
    -allow superSU
    -update your supersu (do not delete the aplication kingroot yet)
    -reboot your phone
    -there you go 5.1 android device rooted

30. @Tim Schofield (Qbking77) This video is outdated.  Please either update it or take it down.  You cannot root with SuperSu if you have upgraded to 5.0.  Multiple users have made similar comments and I just wasted an hour and a half screwing around with this old information.  I did learn a lesson though– always read the latest comments on stuff like this.

37. WARNING, this root only works out of box without updating to lollipop. Many of the current Moto X come with lollipop out of box now. Be wary and understand this root method is not for lollipop. I will repeat once more for the noobs and plebs, NOT FOR LOLLIPOP. NOT FOR VERIZON OR ANY OTHER CARRIER.

40. Great video. I get my phone tomorrow and plan on following this method right out of the box before I do anything else.
    My question is will this method allow me to keep root after my moto x receives the lollipop ota update?
    I can not find an answer for this easily anywhere so I'm sure that more people are wondering.
