I know that long time old and continuous usage can slow a mac down and lot of other factors can contribute to degrading mac performance. We have alternative option too like Stellar Speedup Mac. I have used and found that this tools remove the trash, leftovers and manage the extensions from the mac. Complete uninstall all the unused application simple drag and drop option. But when i see this video i found it very helpful for me without using any tools. Rally appreciated man. 🙂

A slow hard drive can also mean your hard drive is failing. I would take it to get a proper hardware diagnosis.
